Calculating the environmental load (“Miljøbelastningsberegner”)

The software for calculation of the environmental load of active substances was developed for calculation of the environmental load of active substances, for which there are no data in the database of the Danish Environmental Protection Agency (DK EPA). The software is a service, which can be used irrespective of the software available to the user (like e.g. Excel). Please note that this implies that there may be time lags during the process.

All the information, which is needed for the calculation of the environmental load, must be entered into the relevant cells. Additional information, e.g. regarding pesticide type is not obligatory.

The calculations are based on the algorithms, which are described in the Danish ”Pesticide tax act” (Lov om ændring af lov om afgift af bekæmpelsesmidler (Lov nr. 594 af 18/06/2012 https://www.retsinformation.dk/Forms/R0710.aspx?id=142470 ). The tool is a preliminary version, which will soon be developed and improved.

Using the calculator and glosary  Click the text ”Tilføj ny” (add new), and cells for data entry will appear.  In case of missing values, the cell should be left empty.  Move from one cell to the next by means of the “Tab” key.  Navn: Name of the active substance.  Pesticide type: For description of the target organisms.  CAS number: Enter the CAS-number (if available).  The following cells are for entering results of the laboratory experiments, which have been carried out in order to investigate the properties of the substance.

It is important that the data are entered using the units specified below.  Koc: ml/g – if Koc is missing, Kfoc should be used.  Click ”Beregn” (calculate).  For the calculation of environmental load for more than one substance, click ”Tilføj ny” on top of the screen.  The data can be downloaded in Excel or RTF formats.
