ROLE DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Volunteer Database Co-ordinator Function: Fundraising Reports to: Head of Fundraising Salary: Unpaid (Voluntary) Last Updated: 10 June 2010

1. Main Purpose: The Volunteer Database Co-ordinator will provide operational support for the Fundraising team in order to achieve goals and targets to meet the charity’s overall aim of improving the quality of life of children from throughout Scotland affected by the disabling condition cerebral palsy.

2. Specific responsibilities:

Delivery of an administrative/support function for the Fundraising team in relation to the following projects:  Database Management

 Individual Giving Programme

3. General Responsibilities:

 Maintenance of the donor database using Donor Strategy, ensuring that the database is updated on a daily basis to ensure content is current and consistent in format.  Identifying target audiences for various appeals and creating hit lists.  Liaising with new and existing donors in person and via telephone and written communications.  Updating social networking sites i.e. Facebook and Twitter.  General clerical/administrative duties such as: drafting and typing letters; photocopying; emailing; faxing; sorting and distributing relevant mail; and answering telephone enquiries where appropriate.

1  Answer telephones and deal with all enquiries in a professional and efficient manner.  Become conversant with and adhere to the policies of the charity, particularly relating to health and safety, equal opportunities, confidentiality and data protection.  Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required by Head of Fundraising.

4. Additional Information:

The above statements do not cover the minutiae of activities covered by the post, which includes continual assessment, documentation and communication. This post will require a high level of motivation, skill and expertise to maintain the high standards to which Bobath Scotland aspires.
