POSITION TITLE: Online Course Designer

REPORTS TO: Director of Graduate and Professional Programs

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Online Course Designer will assist in designing, conducting, promoting, and supporting all online courses for the professional programs and graduate programs. This position directly reports to the Director of Graduate and Professional Programs.

 Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a strong desire to serve others and a commitment to being a faithful steward of university resources  Strong communication, interpersonal, and teaming skills  Possess a high level of problem solving skills  Ability to execute multiple projects and tasks concurrently  Previous online experience  Strong understanding and empathy of adult and online learners  Strong verbal and written communication skills  Maintains a suitable presentation for both small and large group environments  Highly motivated  Highly organized  Strong computer skills including Moodle and other online software such as Adobe Connect  Strong multitasking abilities  Proficient in Microsoft Office

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist with the development and management of Distance Learning Programs and courses including online, blended (hybrid) and web-supported courses. 2. Assist with the development and support of online programs, course rotation schedules, and general course offerings. 3. Assist and support program and course evaluation. 4. Establish and maintain files for online courses. 5. Prepare multimedia tools for classroom use (including streamed video, audio, and PowerPoint) 6. Review lesson material with pre-delivery checklist. 7. Collaborate with the technology services department to provide Moodle support to students.

October 2011 8. Provide course-specific Moodle support for students and faculty in online courses —including courses in Professional Programs, traditional summer online, and graduate programs. 9. Maintain master booklist file for Professional Programs and Graduate programs. 10.Monitor copyright compliance and continue to update the university on compliance standards. 11.Assist with other projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Graduate and Professional Programs
