Riverside Highland Water Company New Chamber Member to Continue State Imposed Ribbon Cutting Water Restrictions

For the second time in the last four weeks, Governor Jerry Brown and the Cal- ifornia Department of Water Resources have ordered the extension and expan- sion of the water restrictions that were implemented in August of last year. These restrictions are the result of California now entering the fourth consecu- tive year of below normal rainfall and the failure to reduce water use by 20 percent throughout the State. The existing restrictions include: washing down driveways and sidewalks; wa- tering of outdoor landscapes that cause excess runoff; using a hose to wash a motor vehicle, unless the hose is fitted with a shut-off nozzle, and using pota- ble water in a fountain or decorative water feature, unless the water is recircu- lated. The State has also added the requirement that all Californians turn off their sprinklers during measurable rainfall, and keep them off for at least 48 hours after the rain event and ban all restaurants, bars and hotels from serving water unless customers ask for it. The State of California has also required all water agencies to limit lawn wa- tering to two days per week if they aren’t already restricting watering days. Previously, Riverside Highland Water Company requested voluntary water conservation to no more than four days per week. We are now forced by the State to require the four day per week watering schedule. Riverside Highland Water Restrictions……. Continued from page 1 While other water agencies are looking at issuing fines, Riverside Highland Water Company will work with our customers through verbal communication as well as hang tags when we observe noncompliance. However, if the Com- munity does not respond to conservation or if the State requires additional cutbacks, fines may be required in the future. We will continue to work with the State of California and other local agencies to con- serve water and will keep you, our shareholders and customers, informed of any addi- tional information. Our goal is to pull together as a community to conserve water. We at Riverside High- land Water Company believe that through education and communication, our custom- ers will understand the seriousness of the situation and come together to save water for the benefit of our community’s future.

Here are a few quotes from parents whose children attended the June summer camp. Parent 1 “my child came away with more discipline and focus he also had a new level of re- spect for himself and others, thank you! Parent 2 said “my daughter has low self-esteem and is very shy be- cause of it, but in just one week I see a dramatic turn around in her behavior, how she stands with her head held high, and how she communicates with other students and her instructors, the shyness is leaving her, thank you so much!” Kicks’ Chief Instructor Jeff says, “Our main goal for the kids during Summer Camp to transform their lives in a positive way, we want to partner with the parents to make sure the kids learn and grow and focus on their spe- cific needs.” At the end of the their summer camp, kids will be better sons, daughters, students, citizens, and people then when they first walked into the school. Kicks is committed to the parents and the children to make sure that happens. Kicks Advanced Training Centers Camps are a great way to introduce your children to the martial arts. Di- rected and crafted by Geri Marquez, the talented cast, mas- terful props, and authentic depression-era costumes trans- ported audiences to New York City of the 1930s. Annie had it all: rousing choral numbers with snazzy choreogra- phy performed by the orphans, New Yorkers, and servants; touching but fun duets, such as Annie and Warbucks’ “I Annie (Lauren Don’t Need Anything but You”; and memorable solos, as Bullock) & Sandy (Roscoe) when Annie (played by Lauren Bullock) belted “Tomorrow.” The audience left delighted, humming the songs of Annie and wondering what next year’s production will bring.

Spring Hills Family Dentistry celebrates 5 year Anniversary with Open House

Dr. Lalisa Yaowarat- tana and her husband Walter Kurfurst opened their doors for their first patients in February 2010 with 1 assistant. Mean- while, Spring Hills Family Dentistry grew to include an associate dentist, 2 hygienists and 6 assistants. Dr. Lalisa and her team attribute that rapid growth to their philosophy (if this patient was your mom or dad - how would you treat them?) and the community. Not one day goes by where an existing patient refers one of their friends, family, coworkers or neighbors to the prac- tice. So Dr. Lalisa and her staff have decided to show the community what the dental office looks like, the technology that is involved, even the instru- ments, if someone is interested without the worry of “going to the dentist”. If you ever wondered what the dentist or assistants are doing when they are not at your chair side, this is your chance to find out.

Of course, there will be drinks and snacks (sugar free?).

The 5 Year Anniversary Open House takes place on 5/5 at 5pm and will last until 7:30pm.

Spring Hills Family Dentistry is located at 22737 Barton Road (right next to City Hall/ Library) and on the web at www.SpringHillsDentistry.com
