Job Purpose

Larbert High School and Grangemouth Stags RFC have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and self- motivated individual to play a key part in the development of youth rugby within the community.

The position is with Larbert High School and Grangemouth Stags RFC, working in partnership with Scottish Rugby.

Principal Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a coordinated coaching program throughout all sections of Grangemouth Stags, Larbert High School and the cluster primary schools. • Oversee long-term player development programmes throughout the club and school, appropriate to age and stage • Provide succession planning to ensure qualified coaches are appointed to all teams and receive the appropriate training required through a planned coach development programme • Develop and manage any assistant development officers and community coaches • Lead and manage School of Rugby sessions (S1 to S6) and all associated materials • Lead and manage Larbert High Schools extra-curricular rugby programme • Budget management of the School of Rugby programme • Teach assigned Health & Wellbeing curricular classes from S1 to S6 • Help secure and develop new coaching volunteers from within the community • Organisation of weekend fixtures for Larbert and Grangemouth teams • Liaise with Scottish Rugby to ensure continued professional development (CPD) and adherence to Scottish Rugby initiatives. • Provide CPD sessions to Mini and Youth Coaches in co-operation with Scottish Rugby’s Training and Education department. • Manage transition programs from Larbert High School to club rugby • Establish and manage pre-school or post-school rugby programmes at Grangemouth Stags RFC • Deliver sessions as part of Grangemouth Stags coaching set up to provide transition links from school to club • Manage rugby programs in each of the 7 associated Larbert cluster primary schools • Lead and manage weekly fixtures as part of the Mitsubishi Central Schools conference • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all partners, stakeholders and key contacts

Post Holder Requirements

• Experience of coaching rugby. Alternatively, candidates who have played (or are playing) rugby at a competitive level or have experience coaching other sports will be considered. • Excellent communication and organisational skills. • A proactive self-starter with a flexible approach to work. Regular weekend work will be required. • A driving licence • PVG for working with young children • A minimum of UKCC Level 2 Coaching Qualification or equivalent.
