KINGS POINT SCHOLARS

The Kings Point Scholar Program provides a participating Midshipman an opportunity for self-directed and guided research under Faculty sponsorship and direction. This program of intense research around a chosen topic gives the Midshipman in-depth expertise in a particular subject and valuable research and writing experience. It also allows the Midshipman the opportunity to work closely with a Faculty mentor(s) in the pursuit of knowledge. The project may be maritime-related; however, the Scholar program also affords Midshipmen the opportunity to investigate a topic for which there is no formal study at the Academy. The project culminates with a presentation to the Academy community. The Midshipman’s diploma and transcript indicate this distinguished achievement.
