Welcome 2018 was a major year for housing, not just in Waltham Forest but for the whole country.

Nationally the government has been consulting on the Social Housing Green Paper which proposes fundamental reforms to ensure social housing provides an essential, well managed service for those who need it. In Waltham Forest we have also been developing our own Housing Strategy to reflect the priorities of our residents, as well as those outlined in the Green Paper. Many A new strategy residents were involved in the consultation, including a group of our young people, and I would like to thank them for their time and effort in helping to shape our proposals. Our draft strategy will be going to Cabinet in March for approval.
