Réseau Express Métropolitain Departs hotel at 9:30 am

The Réseau Express Métropolitan (REM) light rail system is the largest mass transit project in Quebec in the last 50 years. The site visit will be hosted by NouvrLR, an engineering and construction general partnership comprised of SNC-Lavalin, Dragados Canada Inc., Groupe Aecon Québec Ltée, Pomerleau Inc. and EBC Inc. Over the course of 2½ hours, we will visit four stations and several points of interest in the construction of the 67km line. These include local stations being constructed beside an active road, a terminus, the test track, a tunnel boring site and the airport connection. PARTNERS

APCOL Asia Pacific Co.,Ltd and Apcol Pte Ltd have done many telecom projects and machinery turnkey projects in Myanmar for more than two decades. In 2000, Asia Pacific Co.,Ltd have secured the USD 200 million telecom project for Alcatel Shanghai Bell for the installation of digital Exchanges and GSM 2.5G in Myanmar. In collaboration with Europe and Chinese State Own Companies, Asia Pacific and Apcol Pte Ltd have successfully implemented many machinery turnkey projects in Myanmar over USD 600 millions. In 2010 Apcol Pte Ltd have proposed to develop the deep seaport project in Sinma area at Ayeyarwady Region. Proposal was approved by six Ministries and Attorney General Office make it ready to sign the MoA. Due to unforeseen circumstances the project was delayed and the government have changed. Jean Mastropietro holds a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from McGill University, with minor in administration, and he is a member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec since 1981. He is recognized for his outstanding leadership skills and his ability to manage multidisciplinary projects including engineering design and construction supervision, as well as large-scale projects delivered under alternative and P3 models. For many years, Jean held several management positions in transportation and business development. In 2013, he joined Hatch as Director – Transportation within the Infrastructure business unit. Since then, he has been actively involved in the preparation of large-scale submissions and the management of major alternative delivery projects. Some of his major accomplishments include participation as director of engineering in the Highway 30 construction project (P3) and managing the request for proposals and the submission for the Turcot Interchange (both for the Ministry of Transportation of Quebec); he also managed the request for proposals for the Champlain Bridge Replacement project (P3) for Transport Canada, as well as for the Louis-Hyppolite Lafontaine Tunnel Rehabilitation project for the Ministry of Transportation of Quebec. He currently supervises the engineering team for the Reseau Express Metropolitain (REM) project owned by CDPQ Infra.

James E Pass, Senior Managing Director, Guggenheim Partners Mr Pass joined Guggenheim Partners in 2009 and is responsible for the research, development and implementation of investment strategies for the Firm’s efforts in the infrastructure arena, including both equity and debt opportunities. In this role, he also serves on several Limited Partner Advisory Committees, on behalf of our clients, in connection with infrastructure funds, focused on global opportunities, in particular the Arctic and Europe, respectively. Since 1986, he has been involved in financing, advising and operating infrastructure assets, ranging from airports to power plants, from health care facilities to student housing complexes. Mark Romoff is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP). Established in 1993, CCPPP’s mission is to collaborate with all levels of government and Indigenous Communities to enable smart, innovative approaches to public infrastructure development and service delivery to achieve the best outcomes for Canadians. Previously, Mark was founding President and CEO of the Ontario Centres of Excellence, Canada’s leading innovation, technology commercialization and entrepreneurship development organization. Over his twenty five year career with the government of Canada, Mark served as Executive Director in the Department of Industry and as a senior diplomat in the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (Global Affairs Canada), serving in Nigeria, Mexico, Malaysia, Japan and the United States. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Canadian Public Television Association (PBS-WNED); the i-CANADA Governors Council; the Québec City Conference; the World Economic Forum “Strategic Infrastructure Initiative” Advisory Committee; and is Vice-Chair of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Working Party on Public-Private Partnerships Governing Council. Stephen Sigmund, Chief of Public Outreach, Gateway Development Corporation Stephen Sigmund is Chief of Public Outreach for the Gateway Development Corporation, the entity overseeing the development of the new Gateway Program to replace a century old one-track-in, one-track-out rail system that serves 200,000 daily passengers and links to 20% of the nation’s economy. In this position, Mr. Sigmund is responsible for building public support from key stakeholders for all projects related to Gateway, and serves as the chief spokesperson to the media. Mr. Sigmund has spent over 25 years as an executive, advisor, and spokesperson for some of the region’s and the nation’s leading public and private sector organizations. He was Chief of Public and Government Affairs for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Communications Director to the Governor of New Jersey, and Communications Director and Senior Policy Advisor to the New York City Council Speaker. He has also built and run multi-organizational coalitions, including the Global Gateway Alliance of leading business, advocacy, labor and academic groups that led the push for modernization of the New York/New Jersey airport system, the largest in the country. Mr. Sigmund teaches at Columbia University, has authored numerous opinion and reported articles, and appeared on national and local news networks as a commentator. Glady Singh, is the VP of Government Solutions business at PrecisionHawk. At PrecisionHawk, she supports federal (DoD and Civil) agencies, State and local government agencies evaluate, adopt and integrate UAS and remote-sensing technologies across their programs, specifically infrastructure management, to include transportation, facility and natural infrastructure. Recent projects include UAS to support master planning, asset and environmental management, as well as developing digital twins for resilience modeling. Previous to that, Ms. Singh was a senior associate at Booz Allen Hamilton for 12 years, where she managed matrixed teams supporting infrastructure management, real estate and environmental programs across several Federal/DoD clients. She helped lead business development and lead the firm’s efforts on leveraging UAS as a disruptive technology in efforts to build innovative, differentiated solutions for clients, working to test and adopt this technology platform in partnership with PrecisionHawk. Ms. Singh has degrees from the University of Winnipeg/University of Manitoba and a Change Management Practitioner certification from Georgetown University.

Harold Tjiptadjaja joined IIF in 2011 as Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer. Currently, Harold manages IIF’s loan and equity portfolio of IIF amounting more than USD 1 billion, across different sectors, e.g. water, telecommunication, toll road, seaport, and airport. In 2000, Asia Pacific Co., Ltd have secured the USD 200 million telecom project for Alcatel Shanghai Bell for the installation of digital Exchanges and GSM 2.5G in Myanmar. In collaboration with Europe and Chinese State Own Companies, Asia Pacific and Apcol Pte Ltd have successfully implemented many machinery turnkey projects in Myanmar over USD 600,000 millions. In 2010 Apcol Pte Ltd have proposed to develop the deep seaport project in Sinma area at Ayeyarwady Region. Proposal was approved by the head of the State of Myanmar and cabinet on that time. Then, six Ministries and Attorney General Office make it ready to sign the MoA. Due to unforeseen circumstances the project was delayed and the government have changed. In 2011 we were invited by former Minister of Transport to report the pending project plan and we discussed with Economic Adviser Group of USDP Party. Then the project idea had been sold to one Thai Company. Two years after signing the MOU with Ayeyarwady Government, The Thai Group was unable to fulfil their obligation. We therefore went the same day together and informed the Ayeyarwady Region Government that Super Axis will withdraw this project and Apcol Pte Ltd will take over and carry on the project. And we submitted our proposal officially on January 14, 2015 to Ayeyarwady Government. Now we got official approval to go for detailed Feasibility Study and we already submitted to Ayeyarwady Government to buy or lease the land to be developed after FS. He works for SNC-Lavalin since 2011. Gilles has prior Sales, Marketing and Commercial Affair Directors experience at Thales, a major European electronic systems integrator for aerospace, defense and transportation applications and also worked with Honeywell with the Power Generation and Management Division in sales & marketing management.
