John has been in the film industry since 1993. In 2002 John joined Motion Theory to head-up their Maya 3D animation and fx team, where he won 5 AICP awards, and received 3 International Art Director Awards. He also co-directed commercials at Motion Theory with founder Mathew Cullen. At Imageworks John worked on five animated features including Surf's Up, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, , and Smurfs 2. He is now working with ReelFX and Mandoo Pictures on new animated feature projects. John received a 2007 Annie Award for his Layout/ Previs work on Surf's Up - the only artist in animation history to receive an Annie award for Layout. As a screenwriter, John has optioned a feature animation script to . Layout Supervisor - Mandoo Pictures Co. February 2014 - Present Head of Layout and previs on the animated feature "Rock Dog", being produced by Mandoo Pictures and ReelFX with Ash Brannon as director. Rock Dog will hit the theaters in 2015.

Visual Effects Supervisor - Motion Theory September 2002 - May 2005 At MT John worked with the top advertising agencies to produce commercials for Nike, Budweiser, Hewlett Packard, Nestle, and many, many more large clients. John ran the 3D animation and digital effect division of the production team. He supervised the Previs, live action shoots, directed the animation team, solved the technical issues and even sat down to animate difficult sequences himself. John worked with the clients and directors to previs the shoots, and even had the opportunity to co-direct commercials. Motion Theory also directed and produced music videos for top rock and pop artists such as REM, Beck and Papa Roach.

Founder/CEO at PremaNations, Inc. February 1998 - July 2002 John led a design and animation team to create 3D animated pilots and promos for animated TV series. He also illustrated and published two successful children's picture books which can still be found in catalogs and in bookstores.
