Two local students have gold- en tickets in the timeless tale of Charlie Bucket and his adventure in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Fac- tory this summer, as they take the stage in the Ohio Valley Sum- mer Theatre’s upcoming musical adaptation “Willy Wonka.” This stage adaptation com- bines elements from both the Roald Paul novel and the 1971 movie. The musical was first produced in 2004 and was writ- ten by Tim McDonald and Les- lie Bricusse. The show features many of the original songs from the movie, but also has a few originals of its own to a “retro- sounding” style that gives the audience something new, while enjoying the classic story. “We’ve really been proud of this community theatre that was birthed from Ohio University as a lab.
