• SatelliteLaunch: CANSAT: Jeppiaar Institute of Technology successfully launched 3 CANSAT on Feb 8th, 2020 in the august presence of Dr.Mylswamy Annadurai, chairman, National Design and Research Forum, Institution of Engineers Vice President, Directorate of Technical Education. The primary objective of the JIT CANSAT is to monitor weather, humidity, temperature, air pressure and GPS location at different attitudes. • JIT satellite team is planned to launch a cube SAT by 2022 to celebrate the 75th year of Indian Independence through the student 75th satellite mission by ITCA. This mission is going to be accomplished in collaboration with Israel Space Agency. • The Nanosatellite team of JIT aspires to conduct multiple workshops on CANSAT and cube SATS for school and college students in the near future.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE JIT organized 2nd International conference on “Recent Innovation in Science, Engineering and Technology-ICRISET". Totally eleven eminent resource persons from various country presented their ideas and innovations in the emerging field of Science, Engineering and Technology effectively in inauguration, presentation sessions and valediction. Out of 250 participants registered, the selected 130 participants from various country presented their research work in their respective track of CSE, IT, EEE, ECE, MECH and S&H. The resource persons from different state have acted as Judges to evaluate the papers presented in the conference.

INSTITUTION`S INNOVATION COUNCIL Jeppiaar Institute of Technology established Institution`s Innovation council under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India to promote Innovation and Start-up in campus. Our institution has achieved full star rating during the 1st and 2nd quarter. 5S CELL Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain Awareness program regarding 5S was conducted by Mr Leo Bernard and Mr Mohan, deputy Manager from Ashok Leyland. The main discussion revolved around College adoption for 5S award ABK / AOTS DOSAKAI (Japanese Foundation). ALUMNI MEET: • Jeppiaar Institute of Technology conducted JIT Alumni Meet on 29th February 2020. More than 500 Alumni's from batch 2011-2015, 2012-2016, 2013-2017 and 20115- have actively participated and made the event a grand success..It was an exhilarating experience for the students as the event took them for a stroll down their memory lane. COLLEGE /HOSTEL DAY: Proud and glad to share that our college has celebrated Hostel Day on 28.02.2020 and College Day on 29.03.2019. It provides an opportunity to assess the achievements of the college. The students were actively associated in all programmes. PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY: NCC, NSS, YRC: • The College NCC, NSS, YRC and IRCS-TNB Kancheepuram District jointly organized free medical camp on 7-3-2020. The camp was supported by Singapore Red Cross Society. Around 160 people are benefited through this camp. • The International Yoga Day was celebrated by organizing the Webinar on “Yoga for Immunity”. Dr. P. Mani. Assistant Professor in Physics, Anna University, BIT Campus, Trichy, presented the webinar in online mode and totally 600 participants were benefited by this programme. • A “One Day Study Camp for YRC volunteers” was conducted successfully. Totally 120 volunteers were participated and benefited, the programme was supported by IRCS-TNB. The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Thanigaiarasu, YRC Coordinator, Anna University, . SPORTS: This year Performance of our sports students (Boys and Girls) was excellent and appreciated by our Chairperson and Committee members for winning various Medals and Trophies in different competitions.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY NSS:

Indian Red Cross Society Tamil nadu - Kanchipuram District and YRC Society of Jeppiaar Institute of Technology jointly organizing a “One Day District Level Seminar for YRC Programme” on 24-01- 2019 .The Chairperson and committee members appreciated the YRC coordinator for organizing the program in which 71 Colleges were participated and benefited through this seminar.

Project Exhibition: • On 5-2-2019 the faculties of Electronics & Communication Engineering organized National level Project Expo ‘GandivA 1.0’ to express the students’ innovations which was appreciated by the Chairman and Committee members. HACKATHON #2.0

• The students of CSE & IT department conducted Hackathon #2.0 successfully on 6th – 8th Feb 2019 in the college premises for the duration of 48 hours. This event was conducted to exercise the talent of the students.

• HACKATHON #2.0 meet was inaugurated by Mr.Vijayan, Position Head, HR department and RPA analyst on 06.02.2019. • On final day conclusion Mr. K Sri Ram, Heading process transformation in RPA and Digital solutions from Atos and Mrs. Uma Maheshwari, Project Manager, Atos gave their valuable presence and distributed awards to the prize winners.

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering initiated IETE Student chapter with 115 student members.

ITCA- Indian Technology Congress Association:

The Chairman expressed his happiness to make Jeppiaar Institute of technology as one of the consortium member of Indian Technology Congress Association (ITCA)

Nano Satellite Project: Jeppiaar Institute of Technology has initiated the Nano Satellite Project in association with Indian Technology Congress Association (ITCA), to build a Nano Satellite for the “Indo- Israel Mission 75 Satellite – 2022”.

In this regard Mrs.Benisha/AP-ECE & Mrs.M.Suganya /AP-CSE have attended the Indo-Israel Space Tech Leadership Program held at Israel during 11-15 Feb 2019.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell:

Chairperson and Committee members appreciated Entrepreneurship Development cell coordinator for organising “Entrepreneurship Conclave 2019” on15.02.2019.

The motto of this EDC is to enhance the idea in the direction of Entrepreneurship and Business start up’s.

This is a platform for nourishing the business ideology of each young entrepreneurs.

DEPARTMENT ADVISORY BOARD: Chairperson and committee members expressed their happiness for the effective support of DAB members.

In Computer Science Engineering Department, DAB member agreed for allotting project on Machine Learning to III year CSE Students and allotted 3 topics on Machine learning, out of 3 projects SPEECH TO TEXT project has been initiated by Bhuvan B.Natesh of III CSE under the guidance of DAB Member.

DAB Member have agreed and permit our Information Technology students for Industrial visit to CODINGMART during March and to give Guest lecture on React Java Script in March.

In view of the above, the CODINGMART has suggested to have Internship in the month end of February. So that they can able to select relevant candidate for the CODINGMART.

DAB member have agreed the Mechanical department, by transferring the knowledge with Brakes India Limited on the topics of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Geometrical dimension and Tolerance (GD&T) and projects to Faculties and students.

RESULT OF ODD SEMESTER 2017-2018: Overall Result: 65% Question Bank - which comprise of PART A, PART B and PART C questions with key points.

Bloom’s Taxonomy – is a classification system used to define and distinguish different levels of human cognition like thinking, learning, and understanding.

Faculties are trained to frame the questions based on various levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy like BTL 1 – Remember, BTL 2 – Understand, BTL 3 – Apply, BTL 4 – Analyze, BTL 5 – Evaluate, BTL 6 – Create Unit Test – After the completion of each unit.

All the faculties completed online course in “MOOC” in the latest technologies and they also registered in “NPTEL” course.

Online course is compulsory for both Faculties and students.

1,50,000 school students break the record of flying a paper glider on 24th February, 2018 around 5 Engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. In this regard Mr.T.V.K.Sundaramoorthy, ISRO Retired Scientist and IAAA organization awarded our Institute as an appreciation for participating in Guinness Record event.

Faculties participated in the Induction program held at IIT Madras to learn Innovative teaching methodology. Faculties participated in the residential training program at School of Design Thinking, Intellect. SSN TROPHY - 4th place in Tamil Nadu Interstate basketball championship. Achievers day was celebrated by Dr.Tessy Thomas/Indian scientist and Project Director for Agni/AV-DRDO. National conference on Innovative trends in Engineering and Technology (NCITET-18). Hackathon 1 .0 on Feb.6 to 8 by CSE, IT. Indian Kart championship competition at Golapur from 12-1.18 to 19.1.18. New Lab Communication Skill Lab to enhance the communication skill of the students. Pradran Mantre Kaushal Vikas Yogana (PMKVY) scheme to train the non-teaching staff. Inaugurated Dance studio on 16-1-2018.

Ist batch completed DTC with lot of learning using design tools. H.Muin bek, 3rd year Mechanical Engineering student secured : Gold Medal “ in 68th senior national championship held at Jawaharlal Nehru indoor stadium, Chennai on 24.01.2018 Basket ball team secured 1st place in the tournament held in Chennai Institute of Technology on 10.01.2018 and Won MKU Memorial trophy held at Coimbatore.
