• SatelliteLaunch: CANSAT: Jeppiaar Institute of Technology successfully launched 3 CANSAT on Feb 8th, 2020 in the august presence of Dr.Mylswamy Annadurai, chairman, National Design and Research Forum, Institution of Engineers Vice President, Directorate of Technical Education. The event was addressed by Mr.Sriram, process Transformation Head, Robotics process Automation Digital solution in ATOS, Dr.Gopalakrishnan, secretary-general, UNISEC India, convener, 75 student’s satellite consortium mission 2022, Dean- New Horizon college of Engineering, Dr.R Venkatesan, Scientist and Head, Ocean observation

system, National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIO), Mr.Jegan Selvaraj, CEO Digital transformation, senior entrepreneur. The primary objective of the JIT CANSAT is to monitor weather, humidity, temperature, air pressure and GPS location at different attitudes. • JIT satellite team is planned to launch a cube SAT by 2022 to celebrate the 75th year of Indian Independence through the student 75th satellite mission by ITCA. This mission is going to be accomplished in collaboration with Israel Space Agency. • The Nanosatellite team of JIT aspires to conduct multiple workshops on CANSAT and cube SATS for school and college students in the near future.

I would like to share the happy news that the overall graduation percentage of the 2015-2019 batch is 84.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE JIT organized 2nd International conference on “Recent Innovation in Science, Engineering and Technology-ICRISET". Totally eleven eminent resource persons from various country presented their ideas and innovations in the emerging field of Science, Engineering and Technology effectively in inauguration, presentation sessions and valediction. Out of 250 participants registered, the selected 130 participants from various country presented their research work in their respective track of CSE, IT, EEE, ECE, MECH and S&H. The resource persons from different state have acted as Judges to evaluate the papers presented in the conference.

INSTITUTION`S INNOVATION COUNCIL Jeppiaar Institute of Technology established Institution`s Innovation council under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India to promote Innovation and Start-up in campus. Our institution has achieved full star rating during the 1st and 2nd quarter. 5S CELL Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain Awareness program regarding 5S was conducted by Mr Leo Bernard and Mr Mohan, deputy Manager from Ashok Leyland. The main discussion revolved around College adoption for 5S award ABK / AOTS DOSAKAI (Japanese Foundation). VALUE ADDED COURSES To make the students to learn the new technologies, various value-added courses were approved by Anna University that are on par with industrial requirements. As per Regulation 2017, Value added courses were conducted for the students and the marks have been displayed in the Mark sheet provided by the Anna University. HIGHER STUDIES: Higher Studies plays a vital role in enhancing and strengthening the real inner portent of a student. The Advisory Bureau of Higher studies have conducted the following events. The Programme was with regard to the Higher Education programmes abroad and its safety measures and Precautions towards studying Abroad. Mr Srivasan, Socialist, headed the programme. The programme was intensive and preparatory measure for students who were willing to take up higher Education Abroad. ALUMNI MEET: • Jeppiaar Institute of Technology conducted JIT Alumni Meet on 29th February 2020. More than 500 Alumni's from batch 2011-2015, 2012-2016, 2013-2017 and 20115- have actively participated and made the event a grand success..It was an exhilarating experience for the students as the event took them for a stroll down their memory lane. They have shared their experiences and Committee members were selected on the same day for the effective participation of Alumnis in Jeppiaar Institute of Technology.

• Webinar Series in the name of Alumi chat has been conducted by the distinguished Alumni’s from 03/06/2020 to 06/06/2020 to the Faculties and students. 1) Mr.Fenelein George from USA on 03.06.2020 2) Mr. Mohan Kumar from New Zealand on 04.06.2020 3) Mr. Anish from Germany from 05.06.2020 4) Ms. Sushmitha from USA on 06.06.2020 The JIT Alumni chat "Tech talks/Webinars" was an epitome of bringing the successful engineers and future engineers of our JIT family together. COLLEGE /HOSTEL DAY: Proud and glad to share that our college has celebrated Hostel Day on 28.02.2020 and College Day on 29.03.2019. It provides an opportunity to assess the achievements of the college. The students were actively associated in all programmes. PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY: NCC, NSS, YRC: • The College NCC, NSS, YRC and IRCS-TNB Kancheepuram District jointly organized free medical camp on 7-3-2020. The camp was supported by Singapore Red Cross Society. Around 160 people are benefited through this camp. • The International Yoga Day was celebrated by organizing the Webinar on “Yoga for Immunity”. Dr. P. Mani. Assistant Professor in Physics, Anna University, BIT Campus, Trichy, presented the webinar in online mode and totally 600 participants were benefited by this programme. • A “One Day Study Camp for YRC volunteers” was conducted successfully. Totally 120 volunteers were participated and benefited, the programme was supported by IRCS-TNB. The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Thanigaiarasu, YRC Coordinator, Anna University, Chennai. Thiru Rajasekar, Disaster Management Trainer, trained the participants on Disaster management. Mr. Mohana Venkatesan, Vice-Chairman, IRCS-TNB has given the first aid Training. Dr. Jeevanantham, Chairman, IRCS-TNB, Kancheepuram District delivered the information on Health and Hygienic. • We have received fund of Rs.22,000 from IRCS-TNB for conducting study camp and active participation of JIT-YRC unit under Anna University, Chennai. SPORTS: This year Performance of our sports students (Boys and Girls) was excellent and appreciated by our Chairperson and Committee members for winning various Medals and Trophies in different competitions.

• 16 team were participated in "SSN TROPHY" -All India Inter-College Tournament, in the final match Jeppiaar Institute of Technology defeated Loyola College and won the first place • Anna University-Zonal II Basketball Tournament - (Men) held in Chennai Institute of Technology, 23 colleges were participated, in the final- played against Sri Venkateshwara engineering college and won the first place. • Jeppiaar Institute of Technology won the first place in state level Premier Basketball Club organized by Anna University in Govt. H.S School, Pattukkottai, 12 teams were Participated. • Winner in Anna University- Inter ZonaI Basket Ball Tournament – women. 17 colleges participated and our team played against Pavai Engineering College, tournament held in KPR Engineering College, Coimbatore • Runner in Jeppiaar Trophy State Level Inter-College Tournament, our team played against Loyola College. • Around 17 colleges participated, won Fourth place in SRM Trophy Football held in SRM University Chennai. • Third place in Mohamed Sathak Trophy Football, held in Mohamed Sathak College, Chennai. 23 colleges were participated. • Third place in Anna University inter zonal for football organized in Athiyaman Engineering College, Hosur .17 colleges from the state have participated.

Three new faculties attended the Induction program in Easwari Engineering College to get trained on various innovative methodologies techniques in the teaching and learning process.

DESGIN THINKING CLUB

“Prevention of Road accidents in Chennai Bangalore Highways” under Sunguvarchathiram Jurisdiction in association with School of Design Thinking.

MOU:

• Design Thinking – Chairperson and committee members appreciated and welcomed the initiatives taken by Design thinking coordinator for signing MoU on 08.01.2019 between School of design Thinking and Jeppiaar Institute of Technology • Nano Satellite- As per the suggestions of the committee members MOU have been signed on 24-01-2019 with Data patterns, India Pvt.Ltd, for the JITSAT - Nano Satellite Project in association with ISRO.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY NSS:

• NSS unit was congratulated by the Committee members for One day medical camp organized with associated of Dr.Mehta's hospital - Dr.Sri Parthasarathi Elumalai MBBS, Dr.Rose Raichal DNB, and Dr.Lakshmi M.S in which the beneficiaries are merely 200 nos (Teaching & Non-Teaching staff, Students,Transport and Mess) towards the checkup of BP, Sugar, BMI and Viz • It is submitted that in the presence of Dr. A Abdul Rahman Professor, Sri Sairam Engineering college, 5th NSS annual special camp was conducted by the NSS unit for awareness on “CLEAN INDIA" from 01.02.2019 to 05.02.2019

Tamil Debate:

• The committee members appreciated the Tamil Mantram members for organizing Tamil Debate on 23-1-2019 to celebrate the 102nd birthday of Dr.MGR’s on the topic relevantto "இன்றைய வாழ்க்றக 믁றை நமக்埁 த쏁வ鏁 நிம்ம鎿யா ? நந쏁க்க羿யா ?" In the presence of Judge: Mr.Nanjil Sambath

YRC:

• Under the valuable guidance of Thiru P. Ponniah, IAS, District Collector & District President IRCS, Kancheepuram District. Prof. Dr. S. Jeevanantham, District Chairman, IRCS, Kancheepuram District. Indian Red Cross Society Tamil nadu - Kanchipuram District and YRC Society of Jeppiaar Institute of Technology jointly organizing a “One Day District Level Seminar for YRC Programme” on 24-01- 2019 .The Chairperson and committee members appreciated the YRC coordinator for organizing the program in which 71 Colleges were participated and benefited through this seminar.

Project Exhibition: • On 5-2-2019 the faculties of Electronics & Communication Engineering organized National level Project Expo ‘GandivA 1.0’ to express the students’ innovations which was appreciated by the Chairman and Committee members. Chairman distributed the cash award and certificates for all the students of various college also participated and shown their innovations • On 22-2-2019 the faculties of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized National level Project Expo ‘TECHNOVANZA 2K19’ to express the students’ innovations. SPORTS:

• Performance of our sports students (Boys) was appreciated by our Chairman and Committee members for winning Dr. Mahalingam South India Basketball Trophy for the year 2019 conducted by Kumaraguru College of Technology.

ISO:

• ISO Coordinators was appreciated by the committee members for successfully completing the first periodic inspection held on January 21st and 22nd by DNV-GL members.

On Inspecting, Auditors have expressed their happiness of the quality maintained in the college.

SYMPOSIUM:

HACKATHON #2.0

• The students of CSE & IT department conducted Hackathon #2.0 successfully on 6th – 8th Feb 2019 in the college premises for the duration of 48 hours. This event was conducted to exercise the talent of the students.

• HACKATHON #2.0 meet was inaugurated by Mr.Vijayan, Position Head, HR department and RPA analyst on 06.02.2019. • On final day conclusion Mr. K Sri Ram, Heading process transformation in RPA and Digital solutions from Atos and Mrs. Uma Maheshwari, Project Manager, Atos gave their valuable presence and distributed awards to the prize winners.

SAE: Society of Automotive Engineers:

Five Students of II Year Mechanical have being trained by HOD and Faculties for registering in Bicycle design competition-2019 which is going to held in July 2019.

IEEE Students branch: On 23.01.2019 the coordinator of IEEE – WIE for organized the awareness program on “SHE-Science – Health – Education) at GMS Government Higher Secondary School - Kancheepuram on 23.01.2019

In this regard, it is submitted that the student one Thiru. M.I.Abdul Halik of Mechanical final year have received most prestigious award “Richard E Merwin Scholarship($1000) from IEEE Computer society for best volunteering and involvement in IEEE.

IETE: The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering initiated IETE Student chapter with 115 student members.

ITCA- Indian Technology Congress Association:

The Chairman expressed his happiness to make Jeppiaar Institute of technology as one of the consortium member of Indian Technology Congress Association (ITCA)

Nano Satellite Project: Jeppiaar Institute of Technology has initiated the Nano Satellite Project in association with Indian Technology Congress Association (ITCA), to build a Nano Satellite for the “Indo- Israel Mission 75 Satellite – 2022”.

In this regard Mrs.Benisha/AP-ECE & Mrs.M.Suganya /AP-CSE have attended the Indo-Israel Space Tech Leadership Program held at Israel during 11-15 Feb 2019.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell:

Chairperson and Committee members appreciated Entrepreneurship Development cell coordinator for organising “Entrepreneurship Conclave 2019” on15.02.2019.

The motto of this EDC is to enhance the idea in the direction of Entrepreneurship and Business start up’s.

This is a platform for nourishing the business ideology of each young entrepreneurs.

DEPARTMENT ADVISORY BOARD: Chairperson and committee members expressed their happiness for the effective support of DAB members.

In Computer Science Engineering Department, DAB member agreed for allotting project on Machine Learning to III year CSE Students and allotted 3 topics on Machine learning, out of 3 projects SPEECH TO TEXT project has been initiated by Bhuvan B.Natesh of III CSE under the guidance of DAB Member.

DAB Member have agreed and permit our Information Technology students for Industrial visit to CODINGMART during March and to give Guest lecture on React Java Script in March.

In view of the above, the CODINGMART has suggested to have Internship in the month end of February. So that they can able to select relevant candidate for the CODINGMART.

DAB member have agreed the Mechanical department, by transferring the knowledge with Brakes India Limited on the topics of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Geometrical dimension and Tolerance (GD&T) and projects to Faculties and students.

RESULT OF ODD SEMESTER 2017-2018: Overall Result: 65% Question Bank - which comprise of PART A, PART B and PART C questions with key points.

Bloom’s Taxonomy – is a classification system used to define and distinguish different levels of human cognition like thinking, learning, and understanding.

Faculties are trained to frame the questions based on various levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy like BTL 1 – Remember, BTL 2 – Understand, BTL 3 – Apply, BTL 4 – Analyze, BTL 5 – Evaluate, BTL 6 – Create Unit Test – After the completion of each unit.

PROJECT:

The committee members congratulated the initiatives taken for encouraging the students to do the Final year projects inhouse.

Online course is compulsory for both Faculties and students.

1,50,000 school students break the record of flying a paper glider on 24th February, 2018 around 5 Engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. In this regard Mr.T.V.K.Sundaramoorthy, ISRO Retired Scientist and IAAA organization awarded our Institute as an appreciation for participating in Guinness Record event.

Faculties participated in the Induction program held at IIT Madras to learn Innovative teaching methodology. Faculties participated in the residential training program at School of Design Thinking, Intellect. SSN TROPHY - 4th place in Tamil Nadu Interstate basketball championship. Achievers day was celebrated by Dr.Tessy Thomas/Indian scientist and Project Director for Agni/AV-DRDO. National conference on Innovative trends in Engineering and Technology (NCITET-18). Hackathon 1 .0 on Feb.6 to 8 by CSE, IT. Indian Kart championship competition at Golapur from 12-1.18 to 19.1.18. New Lab Communication Skill Lab to enhance the communication skill of the students. Pradran Mantre Kaushal Vikas Yogana (PMKVY) scheme to train the non-teaching staff. Inaugurated Dance studio on 16-1-2018.

Ist batch completed DTC with lot of learning using design tools. H.Muin bek, 3rd year Mechanical Engineering student secured : Gold Medal “ in 68th senior national championship held at Jawaharlal Nehru indoor stadium, Chennai on 24.01.2018 Basket ball team secured 1st place in the tournament held in Chennai Institute of Technology on 10.01.2018 and Won MKU Memorial trophy held at Coimbatore.
