17 2018 BANNOCK COUNTY FAIR GRAND MARSHALLS RUSTY The Bow- manAND Family JANE DAVIS

NF Ranch 150 + and 5 generation Marsh Valley Family Owned Ranch The Davis Ranch was started in the late 1860’s or early 1870’s. When our ancestors came from England & Wales they settled in Perry Utah. They were looking for grazing and pasture land and came to Marsh Valley. Daniel D and Mary Ann Davis started the ranch. When Daniel died, Mary Ann married Nil- son Franklin Davis. Then the ranch was handed down to Raymond and Margaret Davis. From there Glade and Jane Davis took over the ranching duties. The ranch is currently being operated by Chris and Lori Davis and their children Shawn and Kaylee Davis. The Davis family has been a great asset to the Marsh Valley community. They are a generous family that are always looking out for their neighbors. Congratulations Davis Family!!

Farm Kids & City Kids: If you grew up in the 1950’s there was an 82% chance that you either lived on a farm or lived in a farming community. In the year 2050, it is estimated that only 18% of the population will live in such a rural setting. While agriculture is growing as an industry, children’s understanding of where their food and fiber come from is gradually di- minishing. In the old days, if you asked a child where butter comes from, they would have pointed to the cow in the pasture because they had seen the cow milked and the butter churned. Today, a growing number of children may think no farther than the refrigerated sec- tion at Wal-Mart. The truth is, both children and adults use consumable and non-consumable products that come from agriculture every day. It just may take a little education and perhaps a little fun to help us real- ize how connected we are to farms and ranches.

Wednesday 33 Linfords The Linfords are the living embodiment of an age old tradition of the musical family. When this brother and sister duo sing togeth- er you will hear more than just well honed voices and great songs, they have developed a sound that was born in them. Cal and Ted- dy have built a stellar set list that puts a unique spin on classic country, folk and rock songs that are crowd favorites. They have matched their unmistakable sound with origi- nal songwriting that tells the story of a life lived in the mountains of Star Valley Wyo- ming, where if they weren’t out working on the ranch, they were singing. Theirs is a true story of Americana.

The Linford Band's diverse and eclectic song choices range from Willie and Waylon and the boys, Dwight Yoakum, King George Strait, and Wyoming favorite Chris LeDoux to contemporary hits from Kacey Musgraves, Jason Isbell and Sara Bareilles with plenty of the classics from The Ea- gles, The Everly Brothers, Bob Segar, and The Doobie Brothers. We play it all and we play it well for the dancing, drinking and listening audience.

The Linfords have opened for big country acts like; Toby Keith, Hal Ketchum, Marti- na McBride, Chris LeDoux and most re- cently Cal was the pre-show for Sam Hunt at a private party. Teddy has sang for the likes of Tom Hanks, Bruce Springsteen, Julie Andrews and even the royal family of Thailand. For all the amazing places the MONDAY music takes them their favorite place is 5:30 PM Monday

As an observer of life, pointing out the humor in modern culture, Chad Prather has built a loyal following, sold out theaters with his one-man shows and has been featured on Fox News and CNN, among other major national outlets. He has ap- peared internationally from Moscow to the Ivory Coast. He may also be one of the most important topical humorists of these turbulent political times, as evidenced by the more than one billion views and counting that he has received on Facebook.

Thursday 41 Thursday, Friday & Saturday

42 It started as the brain child of U of U alumni, Tycen McCann who decided to try his hand at back in 2007 and wanted to practice at home on what was as close to the real thing as possible. He recruited his long time friends Joey Perry and soon to be Dr. Anthony Newman and the three handsome devils acquired their first mechanical bull. Once they had Jay Black (the bull) and realized how much fun it is to ride, they wanted to share their joy with all and therefore worked hard to make their bull operation portable to bring wherever their ser- vices were requested. Since the first bull the number has grown to a full herd and the range in which they buck has extended in- to all of Utah's surrounding states. The Buck Wild guys are more than just your neighbors, they are pure and simply the kind of fellas you want at your Thursday, 5 pm, to 9pm Baseball Field

Brody Fitch!! Brody grew up in Arbon, ID on his family’s farm & ranch. He still lives in Arbon Valley with his wife Kimberlyn and together they own a small herd of cows and some farm ground. When Brody is not working at Cooper Norman he loves to spend time with his family. He also enjoys riding horses, skiing, snowmobiling, playing guitar, and hunting.

44 In country music, a last name like LeDoux casts a big, storied and bittersweet shadow, but it’s one Ned LeDoux doesn’t mind standing in one bit. Having been a drummer in his dad Chris’ band Western Underground since 1998, Ned knew from an early age that he had “no plan b” but to play music, “Once I got the taste Ned of the road, and being in front of a crowd and just the sound of it, it was...freedom.” ”For the last year, Ned has been steadily touring and opening for acts like Toby Keith, Chris Janson, Aaron Watson and Randy Houser. Yet now that he is in front of the mic, Ned has a new goal. “There’s an age group who doesn’t know who Chris LeDoux is and I just want to keep his name out there. I want to reintroduce him to people who’ve maybe heard of him but didn’t know what he did. Just car- ry on his legacy and carry on his music and at the same time show them what I can do.” Ned LeDoux!! Friday 45 Friday—Saturday

47 2018 Bannock County Fair Barn Hunt Fun Match August 10, 2018 Following the 4-H Dog Show that begins at 8:00am Bannock County Fairgrounds / Ballfield Downey, Idaho

Barn Hunt is an exciting new sport based on the skills used by rat catchers who would travel between farms to protect grain supplies and lower the risk of dis- ease by cleaning out vermin. Dogs use their hunting ability to find and mark rats in an above ground "barn-like" setting, using a straw/hay bale maze to introduce climbing and tunneling obstacles in the dog’s path. Rats in aerated tubes are hidden in the maze for the dog to find. Some tubes are empty or contain only litter. Barn Hunt is for ANY dog who loves to hunt and who can fit through an 18" wide gap between two hay bales. It tests , agility, and surefootedness. The sport tests dogs at finding rats that are securely enclosed in ventilated tubes hidden in stacks of hay bales. Your dog will compete by completing a "climb" and a "tunnel", begin to actively "hunt", and “find the rat” by saying “RAT”!
