The Prayer Diary has been produced to allow our daily prayers to be better focused on the people of our community, as we bring our concerns to God, whilst opening ourselves to the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives.

The Prayer Diary will be used during our Daily Office of Morning and Evening Prayer.

It may also serve to enable those who wish to offer intercessions and prayers at home or in prayer groups.

“In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6)

A morning prayer: Eternal God, our beginning and our end, be our starting point and our haven, and accom- pany us in this day’s journey. Dawn on our darkness; open our eyes to praise you for your creation and to see the work you set before us today. Take us and use us to bring to others the new life you give in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

An evening prayer: Gracious God, You have brought us through this day to a time of reflection and rest. Into your hands we commend ourselves, our loved ones and all those we have prayed for. Stay with us, and when we take our rest renew us for the service of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
