The Game by 2gether2one

All winning begins and ends at a 2gether2one point when thoughts meet desire to bring about what seems to be impossible.

“A winning team is the sum total of a coach’s thoughts, put into actions instilled and imprinted within the thoughts and actions of its coaches and players.” V8H

The above statement is so important that it must be in every way be mindfully program ingrained and put into action. Without winning thought no consistency in the actions or winning can ever occur.

The foundation of our approach of coaching the game was established by direct and indirect interactions and experiences with many of the greatest coaches and players of all times none to us as our mastermind.

We are humbly privileged to say we have learned and experience the winning game by direct contact through some form of playing or coaching. We will share with you some of the great attributes of the greats.

Coaching The greats specialized knowledge chooses not to reinvent the winning wheel, instead they use some version of it. They are the ones who seek out from the best only all that works and then with persistence recreate it by using it over and over while disguising it. As a coach if we don’t study them (The greats), our coaching will not win like them.

All greats say that coaching or playing is not all about the X/O’s but more importantly, it is about knowing which buttons to push, to produce and obtain a maximum good result from a team, which includes both players and coaches.

All great coaches instill and program winning habits with a defined purpose which keeps their players hearts & minds from drifting from those habits.

A coach may push the button in different ways, for example they may encourage, scream, look away, pull a player aside etc. The only thing that really matters is getting ourselves and them to produce a winning result first, and continuing that production. It’s all about getting ourselves and them to do their best. This occurs with the actions of getting ourselves and the team to do a defined purpose 2gether. Basically getting ourselves and them to do their best at least, 88 percent of the time during practice and games.

None conformity is the chess game which is another attribute of these great coaches, players and teams. Whatever most teams are doing, they make sure they are doing opposite or disguising what they are doing. They win and do everything different than everyone else.

They build trust by consistent rotation of roles for all person evolved in every game with an agreed upon expectation of performance. While playing time may vary, rotation remain consistent for player roles to be successful. The consistency of their teams gives a positive energy. It makes the game simple; the bottom line is the winning game will boil down to whoever gets the most. Scores and Stops. By the actions of Runs and Reruns.

They master managing runs and reruns with limited stops of a team or player runs without a time out. This action brings about momentum, which when it is harness it is difficult to turn on and off.

In our research we encourage our coaches to conform not into the standard quotes of cliches of the game, as the game always evolves.

For example: we here this a lot “offense will win you games, but defense will win you championships.” But in really the great one knows it takes balance to win consistently at a high level.

Getting to a winning balance is the key to high level winning!

The Coach is the ignitor!

Nothing can start without ignition first!

A series of ignitions must take place runs and reruns during a game for each player by the Coach.

If a team see any panic in the eyes of a coach, the weakest of the players’ flames will goes out causing a chain reaction to the rest of team which 99% of the time leads a team to a losses.

The greats of coaching utilize their assistants Coaches.

Assistants should not become cheerleaders they are to prepare players before they go into the game and show players how to correct their mistakes for when they come go back into the game.

There are 4 games going on all at one time.

#1 The coach’s game.

#2 The player’s game.

#3 The opponent’s game.

#4 And the official’s game

Winning teams win all 4 games 99% of time!

A great coach is responsible for putting each of their players in positions of building something good. At least 88% of time they find a way to get each player the ball 88% of time in the places they can be successful.

When doing so it take the fear out of shooting that leads to making shots (Scores).

They always find ways to maximize players and coaches’ strengths and minimize coaches’ players’ weakness. They do the same vs the opponents.

Their offense will get players shots in their spots which controls any chances of Chaos.

Their plays must be designed to get best scorers and rest of team ball in their best scoring spots as much as possible.

If the team does not score during its own creation period during the state of Chaos of the game, usually after 3 bad offensive possessions, a good, designed play should be called for every possession until team scores. These possessions should include driving the ball to the basket in order to create an opportunity to get to the free throw line.

Great coaches know their players will make most shots in their spots for they witnessed it over and over during practice or games. They do not count on the acts of luck.

The great Bill Russell once said, “It’s better to be Good than Lucky!”

A Winning Offense

A winning offense treats the ball as if it is the same as a stick of dynamite!

Every moment of time a player or team has the ball in their possession, there are only two results that will be achieve.

They will either Build (Win) with it or they will Kill (Loose) with it

They will either blow themselves or the team up which will result in a loss, or

With the boom they will create and build something good which will result in wins.

A Winning Defenses

Great coaches fight fire with fire not only water. Great Defenses are always attacking first and last.

A great defense takes away players, coaches, and team strengths.

It is done by taking the fear out of making mistakes when coaching or playing on defense.

It done by forcing the opponent to their weak spots such as

Forcing them to use their weak hand or weak side, to dribble, pass or shoot. The only thing that matters is getting opponent to take their opportunities in their weakest spots. Evolving fundamentals are taught to each player and defensive thoughts are program for stops by any means necessary, by getting the opponent to

1. miss a shot by pressure and a recovered rebound, 2. turn the ball over by a pass or recover a steal. 3. turn the ball over by a 5 second call etc.

This is done with limited fouling and adjustments to the officials calls. A winning strategy utilizes a change of defenses every 3 to 6 possession to create a state of Chaos among opponents. For example, (player to player into a zone), (100 full into a half-court trap). The greats utilize this concept of defensive runs continually until the opponent make an adjustment, then change defensive again when they do make adjustment keeping a steady state of chaos. If the other team cannot create on their own with that dynamite ball, chaos will blow them up through a turnover, miss shots, poor offensive possession which will result to a team losses.

Evolving Fundamentals

The fundamentals of yesterday game do not all translate into today game. For example, closing out on your opponent with your hand up today without real pressure will leave the defender in a no-win situation 99% of the time. Too much team help side can be a team’s defensive suicide. The 3-point shot must be defended well. If a team makes a 3 point shot a team will need to make those points up by shooting at least 50% making2 pointers. It could take 6 shots to make up a 3- point deficit. Playing on an Island man to man defense is a must at some at period during each game. It will determine who really is the man or woman. Shooting a floater may be better than a power up. Block shots is the worst stat to push team to accomplished as more than 90% of the time a foul is called instead.

Playing 2gether2one at all times is the most important thing in any game period.

Both players and coaches’ brains may be compared to an electric battery. It is a well-known fact that a group of electric batteries (The Team) will provide more energy than a single battery. It is also a well-known fact that an individual battery will provide energy in portion to the number and capacity of the cells it contains.

The brain functions in a similar fashion. This account for the fact that some brains are more efficient than others and leads to this statement—a group of brains coordinated (or connected 2gether2one) in a spirit of harmony will provide more thought-energy than a single brain, just as a group of electric batteries will provide more energy that a single battery. This is the Master Mind principle, which states that power is given to people who surround themselves with other people with brains. Napoleon Hill. We call this 2gether2one Play.

“When a team of individual brains are coordinated and function in harmony, the increased energy created through that alliance becomes available to every individual brain on the team.”

“The Power of We is greater than Me!”

Great coaches use and rotate as many players of their team as possible. The weakest player should be involved and play at least 1 min each game no matter what your opponent is. When you need them to be more than they are this will prepare them to step up and perform. Likewise, player rotation should basically be the same for most games at lease the 1st half of the game. The only exceptions is when a player is in foul trouble, injured etc., then the next player who fits closest to the mold of the player you took out should be inserted in the game. The length of time for each player can be tweaked base on play of game situation. This will create a positive minds/energy of 2gether2one play for a team rather than negative. Using more we’s than me’s is the goal.
