Request for Proposal – Snow Removal Services

RFP Overview This Request for Proposal (RFP) documents the Ridley School District’s requirements for Snow Removal Services for the 2020-21 school year and is subject to annual review at the conclusion of the season.

This RFP is intended to allow the Ridley School District a basis for evaluating and selecting the proposal best suited to the District’s needs. The acceptance of a proposal does not obligate the Ridley School District to purchase snow removal services from any supplier who submits a proposal. Ridley School District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. All costs for proposal preparation are the responsibility of the vendor. After receipt of the proposal, and prior to signing a contract, Ridley School District reserves the right to modify the services to be received by adding or deleting services.

Instructions 1. Sealed proposals will be received at the Business Office of the Ridley School District no later than Tuesday December 15th, 2020 2. All proposals shall be sealed and addressed to: Mr. Frank DeMarco, Assistant Business Manager Ridley School District 901 Morton Avenue, Suite 100 Folsom, PA 19033 3. No proposal shall be entertained unless properly signed by an authorized agent of the company or member of the firm submitting the proposal. 4. Suppliers are required to take a guided tour of the District grounds on Tuesday December 8th at 9 a.m. starting at . Suppliers should include in their proposal a list of the cost for snow removal services at each individual building, as well as the entire district as a whole. 6. All prospective bidders must provide a Certificate of Insurance for operation liability and workers compensation. 7. Suppliers are required to demonstrate their ability and experience in successfully delivering snow removal services similar to those requested by a school district. These specifications have a standard that all references have a minimum rating of “acceptable performance.” Each proposer shall submit as part of proposal all current snow removal contracts to a maximum of 25. Educational facility contracts preferred but not required. All references to be complete with name, contact individual, location, phone number, and type of facility. 8. Overview of the District Facilities and Snow Removal Requirements Ridley School District has seven Elementary Schools, one , one High School, one Community Center, one Services Center, one off-site rental, and one Bus Yard.

The following are the required snow removal services for this request for proposal:

At the direction of the Director of Facilities:

1. Plow and clear all driveways, parking areas, and playground areas for safe travel. Must be completed two hours prior to opening of school or weekend activities. 2. Shovel, snow blow, and clear all snow and ice from sidewalks, steps, and other areas for safe travel and entrance into buildings. Must be completed two hours prior to opening of school or weekend activities. 3. Distribute salt on all areas plowed and shoveled including driveways, parking areas, and sidewalks. Calcium chloride salt only, not blends on the sidewalks and steps. Rock Salt to be used on the parking lot. 4. Snow shall be piled in designated areas of the parking lots and driveways as to not limit access to the facilities. Snow is not to be piled against any exterior doors. 5. All dumpster areas shall be clear of snow and ice to allow staff to dispose of trash and for vendor to empty dumpsters. 6. When finished, the parking lot and walkways should be clear of all snow and ice.
