by ORPA Hunting Chair Don Hunter

The Ohio Rifle and Pistol Association held their first ever Hunt Challenge this past October at Brier Oak Hunt Club near Bellevue, Ohio. ORPA rewarded trophies for the top three in Flushing Class and for the top three in the Pointing Class. For the Hunt Challenge, four birds were placed in a grass field and the hunters received a twenty minute time limit to hunt.

Scoring was a combination of full and partial retrieves, the number of birds in hand, the shells used and the time. The weather was nice and the event ran well. Next year a youth category is being considered. To be placed on a contact list for the 2013 Hunt Challenge please contact Don Hunter at [email protected] or (567) 278-1551.
