RE Home Learning Activities 01/02/21 – 05/02/21

Our RE topic for this half term is Hinduism.

The Hindus have many different Gods and they all represent different aspects of the one God - . However, there are three Gods, that Hindus consider most important. The three Gods are: o o o Shiva These three Gods make up the Trimurti!

Brahma - The Creator o Brahma is said to be the creator of the universe. o He is one of the most important Gods in Hinduism. o Hinduism states that Brahma has four heads and from these came the four . o He has 4 arms and usually wears a beard. o In pictures, Brahma holds a book and a sceptre. o It is stated that Brahma was born from a lotus flower.

Vishnu - The Preserver o Vishnu is the preserver and the protector of the universe. o His role is to protect Humans and restore order in the world. o He has come to earth in nine different forms. o He has four arms and holds a conch, the Sudarshan Chakra, a lotus flower and the Kaumodaki.

Shiva - The Destroyer o Shiva's role is to destroy the universe and then re-create it. o He removes all evil from the world. o He has a blue neck because, according to Hindu legend, he swallowed poison to save the earth. o He has three eyes and the third eye is on his forehead.

Activity Pick one of the three Gods of the Trimurti, draw, colour and label your figure. What they are holding and wearing? Why might they be holding or wearing these things?
