Directions to Chalet Papounet from Airport by road (Swiss side) Chalet Papounet 661 Route des Chavants 74310, Les Houches

• This route avoids the centre of Geneva and is usually quicker though about 14km longer. The toll cost is the same as driving through Geneva city centre. The route is about 100km and should take no more than an hour. You will need around a total of €6 for the two péage (toll) points for a normal car . All major credit cards are accepted 24/7 but don’t get money from – Swiss Francs are no use!

• To summarise, follow the signs to and once in France, follow the signs to Mont-Blanc. It couldn’t be easier but to be a bit more specific…

• On leaving the airport join the main road, Route De Pré-Bois . Follow the green motorway signs to France along a straight road for about 1km. There are a couple of comedy signs which make it look like France is off to the left – ignore them and carry on straight until you arrive at a T-junction with traffic lights.

• At the T-junction turn left onto the Route de Vernier .

• Immediately move into the right lane (bus lane) and turn right down the slip road.

• Drive about 150m down the slip road onto the motorway sign-posted France .

• The E62-A1-E25 motorway takes you to the border (Bardonnex) with France.

• Once in France follow the signs Chamonix Mont-Blanc (slip road on the right).

• As a note, it takes about 20 minutes from to Chamonix, just as you start to rise up the large viaduct into the Valley . Please ensure that you call us at this point, 20 minutes before your arrival. If you are with a transfer company, you may be the last to be dropped off so please check with your driver.

• As you near Chamonix, you will pass through several short tunnels. Take the turning to Les Houches (Prarion)

• As you come in to Les Houches towards the top of a hill, you will see a large sign on the front of the cable car, “Telesiege de Bellevue”. At this point turn right towards the Prarion Lift .

• Just after the Prarion lift itself, take the second exit at the roundabout towards Les Chavants (Route des Chavants).

• After a few hundred metres, you’ll reach a fork in the road; veer to the left, uphill, signposted towards the Chalet . You will be met at the property itself by a Mountain Lifestyle representative and unless by prior arrangement, entry cannot be before 4pm . Arrivals outside normal office hours ( after 7.30pm ) incur a 20 euro surcharge which is payable on arrival. Arrivals after 11.30pm incur a €50 surcharge
