 KEYDET BASKETBALL GAME NOTES  KEYDET BASKETBALL GAME NOTES  KEYDET BASKETBALL GAME NOTES  VMI Hits The Road For First Place Showdown at Radford Keydets Look to Rebound From Home Loss vs. Liberty on Saturday  Seniors Chavis and will appear on "ESPN First Take", a sports talk show that airs on ESPN2, on Thursday, Jan. 22. The interview is set to air at 11:40 a.m. EST. "ESPN First Take" begins at 10 a.m. EST, and repeats at noon  In front of the largest crowd in history, the visiting Liberty Flames ended VMI’s 10-game winning streak Saturday afternoon at Cameron Hall, prevailing 91-80 in a Big South contest. VMI (14-33, 6-11 Big South) The Keydets were led by Austin Kenon in the defeat, as the sophomore guard tallied 21 points in the setback. Chavis at Radford (9-99, 6-11 Big South) Holmes had 17 markers, while Keith Gabriel had 16 for the home squad. VMI forced 25 turnovers, but could only convert 21 Wednesday, January 21, 7 p.m. points off those miscues. The Keydets shot just 9-of-30 (30%) from three-point range, accounting for the fewest three-point field goals against a Big South opponent this season. In addition, the Flames outrebounded VMI 48-30 on the afternoon. Dedmon Center; Radford, Va. Liberty was paced by Seth Curry, the top-scoring freshman in the country, who had a career-high 35 points for the Flames. RADIO- WREL-AAM 1450 Lexington  VMI currently boasts four players that are averaging at least 15 points per game this season. Chavis and Travis Holmes currently rank as the fourth and 12th leading scorers in VMI histo- VMI RU ry, respectively, and are the fourth-highest scoring set of twins in Division I history with 3,173 points. (Page 5 for more info)  In 2008-09, the Keydets are trying to become the third school in Division I history to lead the nation in scoring for three 95.7 Points Per Game 72.3 straight seasons. Furman did so from 1953-55, while Loyola Marymount followed suit from 1988-90.
