UTAH KYLE WHITTINGHAM – • Enters his 14th season as Utah’s head coach and is the longest tenured head coach in the Pac-12. • Joined the Utes in 1994 as the defensive coordinator and has won 196 games in his 24 years on the staff, including a 111-56 record as the head coach from 2005-17. • Has a .917 win percentage in bowl games (11-1) for the best postseason bowl record in NCAA history. Eleven bowl wins is tied for the second-most among active coaches, one behind Alabama’s . • Helped Utah finish in the AP top 25 in three of the past four seasons and five times total in his career as head coach. • Coached the Utes to 13 wins over AP top 25 ranked teams, including victories over No. 4 Alabama (2009), No. 5 Stanford (2013) and No. 8 UCLA (2014). • Named National Coach of the Year by the Coaches Association in 2008, after an undefeated 13-0 season and a win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, placing them at No. 2 in AP’s rankings. • Three-time semifinalist for the George Munger Coach of the Year Award from 2014-16. • Whittingham played linebacker for BYU from 1978-81 and was named WAC Defensive Player of the Year in 1981 • Earned Defensive MVP of the in 1981 and was later inducted into the Holiday Bowl Hall of Fame in 2008. • Raised in Provo, Utah, Whittingham is now married with four children, two of whom played football for the Utes.

CHASE HANSEN - UTAH REDSHIRT SENIOR LB • Named to the 2018 Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List. • Started eight games last season, seven at strong safety and one at linebacker. • Second on the team in tackles per game (6.38) and third in total tackles (51) while missing four games due to injury last season. • Started all 13 games in 2016, leading the team with 90 tackles, 12 passes defended and nine bass breakups to earn All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. • In 2016, Hansen had a 34-yard interception return for a touchdown against Arizona State, along with two pass breakups and six tackles. • Tied for second in the nation with four fumble recoveries and forced three fumbles, which tied for third in the Pac-12 in 2016. • Hansen’s dad Brian played football at BYU, his uncle Randy Hansen played at Utah, and another uncle Bruce Hansen played at BYU and for the New England Patriots in 1987. • Has played three positions at Utah (quarterback, safety, linebacker). As a redshirt freshman in 2015, he played two games at quarter back and seven at safety. • Hansen redshirted as a freshman in 2012 to complete an LDS church mission in Brisbane, Australia. When he returned from his mission, head coach Kyle Whittingham welcomed him at the airport after months of writing each other during his trip.

LO FALEMAKA - UTAH REDSHIRT SENIOR OL (pronounced fal-uh-ma-ka) • Started all 13 games at center and third on the offensive line in total snaps with 815 to earn 2017 All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention honors. • Granted a sixth year of eligibility in March since he played in just two games in 2015 and missed 14 games combined games during his sophomore and junior seasons due to injuries. • Played in 10 games with two appearances on the line during his 2016 season and totaled 100 snaps on the year. • Stepped in as the replacement starter for injured center J.J. Dielman against California and then suffer an injury of his own in 2016. • Lettered three years at Cottonwood High School in Utah and helped the team win the 2012 Region 2 Championship. • Suffered a gunshot wound his sophomore season that sidelined him for the remainder of the year to recover and still carries a bullet inside him near his left hip. The bullet and subsequent surgery resulted in a 10-inch scar that extends from the middle of his chest down to his waist. • Born in Salt Lake City, Falemaka has nine siblings and also has a second cousin, Bapa Falemaka, who plays tight end for the Utes.
