Winner- Audience Award for the Best Feature - Tribeca Film Festival 2017 Winner-Audience Award for the Best Fiction Film-Traverse Film Festival 2017

The Divine order (Die göttliche Ordnung) is a 2017 Swiss comedy film directed by Petra Biondina Volpe. The film is set in Switzerland in 1971 where, despite the worldwide social upheavals of the previous decade, women were still denied the right to vote. When unassuming and dutiful housewife Nora (Marie Leuenberger, winner of a best Actress Award at Tribeca) is forbidden by her husband to take a part-time job, her frustration leads to her becoming the poster child of her town’s suffragette movement. Her newfound celebrity brings humiliation, threats, and the potential end of her marriage, but, refusing to back down, she convinces the women in her village to go on strike…and makes a few startling discoveries about her own liberation. Uplifting and crowd pleasing, this charming, captivating film is a time-capsule that could not be more timely. English subtitle.

Swiss News Qld – 17 My story... or “get to know your SSQ members”

I arrived in Brisbane with my family, Rita, Mario and Flavio, in 2000. Soon after arrival, Elsie Schuetz nominated me to become a member of the Swiss Club committee.

I then also held the position of Club Secretary and Vice President and I was in the committee over 10 years, planning Quiz nights with Anna and Thomas Willig and helping with/organising many other events. One of my main jobs, together with Marc Godat, was to combine, set- up and maintain the internet portals for most of the AU and NZ Swiss Clubs, (swiss.org.au and swiss.org.nz), until Fredi Vogel took over.

I was also the EDItor of the SNQ magazine for many years, working together with Hans Heer, the printer. Now I enjoy reading the Online version of the Swiss News to stay in touch with the happenings of the Swiss Club.
