You are invited to register for and attend the 44th annual National Association Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, from September 21 through September 25, 2016. The theme for this year’s convention is “ Carousel Circle Tour” as we will be traveling along Lake Erie’s southern coast and inland to visit nine , a carousel factory and three museums. At one museum we will learn about the art and history of the carousel, another learn about the history of some of Cleveland’s old amusement parks and park memorabilia, and learn the story of the automobile in America.

Our headquarters will be the Embassy Suites, 5800 Rockside Woods Boulevard, Independence, Ohio 44131. Conveniently located 10 minutes from downtown Cleveland and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport at the intersection of I-480 and I-77. A discounted convention room rate of $119.00 per night plus tax has been secured. Room reservations can be made by calling 1-800- Embassy and ask for the group code NCA. The cut-off date for this great rate is August 22, 2016, at 11:59 p.m. This hotel is in high demand so make sure you book your room before the deadline to insure you have a room in the host hotel. For those who would like to arrive early to sightsee the rate will be offered, based on availability, 3 days before and 3 days after the convention date. Cleveland is easily accessible by driving: I-71, I-77, I-90 and I-80 (Ohio Turnpike). Cleveland Hopkins International Airport offers service from eight different air service providers: Air Canada, American Airlines, Delta, Frontier Airlines, Southwest, Spirit, United, and jetBlue. Embassy Suites provides shuttle service from and to the airport. After retrieving luggage call Embassy Suites at 216- 986-9900. Conference Extras The Happiest Rides on Earth® For those arriving on Tuesday evening for dinner, make your way to Merwin’s Wharf located along the scenic Cuyahoga River at Irishtown Bend in the shadow of downtown Cleveland. The Euclid Beach Boys® will have available their Rocket Ship Car® for a half hour tour of downtown Cleveland starting at 5:30 p.m., weather permitting (no rain). If there is a large response they will also bring their Thriller Car®. The rocket is one of the three that were on Euclid Beach Parks® Rocket Ship circle swing ride. The Thriller was the park’s favorite and the single car is mounted on a 1951 Chevrolet pickup truck that was a maintenance vehicle at the . The Museums in University Circle The History Center of the Western Reserve Historical Society is located in Cleveland’s University Circle neighborhood, America’s densest concentration of cultural attractions and performing arts venues. Included are the Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Botanical Gardens, and Cleveland Museum of Natural History. These three institutions along with The History Center are neighbors around a public area called Wade Oval. All within a half mile of each other. Beginning around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, a shuttle will run between Embassy Suites and Wade Oval giving convention attendees the opportunity to visit these three attractions. The collections of the Cleveland Museum of Art (www.clevelandart.org) are free to the public. General admission to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History (www.cmnh.org) is $14.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors 60+. The 2016 Convention Roundabout Fair will open in the evenings from Wednesday September 21 through Saturday September 24. The Faire will have its own room near the Embassy Suites’ atrium. Move-in can begin on Tuesday September 20 and the room will be locked for security when not being used. There is only room for nine tables, nine vendors.
