John Todd, a native of the Carolinas, has been called “one of the most creative minds in the business.” His innovative and popular direction has allowed John to work with such artists as, Oprah Winfrey, Kristen Bell, Robert Downey Jr., Josh Gad, Mark Ruffalo, Josh Brolin, Mandy Moore, John Lasseter, Craig T. Nelson, Samuel Jackson, Don Cheadle, Emily Blunt and Rob Marshall, to name a few.
John began his directorial career in live events, expanding his scope of work to include all markets: Television, film, Commercials, Stage shows and National Tours.
John’s re-imagined Annie Get Your Gun, starring Beth Malone (Fun Home Tony nominee), received high praise from the critics. “His retelling of this timeless classic was relatable with a fresh ingenuity that made one nostalgic for the days of old.”
A few of the many highlights in John’s career: Directing West Side Story and Kiss Me, Kate at the Herod Atticus Theater, in Athens, Greece, to a nightly sold out audience of 5000 patrons. Directing over 25 Red Carpet and show events for The Walt Disney Company (including their biggest biennial event, D23). Created and conceived the National tour Hayes Grier/The Detour (64 US cities/35 European cities).
What’s next for John, you might ask? Future projects include: directing the new musical The Year of Living Dangerously at 54 Below, directing The Red Carpet premier of "COCO" (Starring Gael Garcia Bernal, Benjamin Bratt and Cheech Marin) and creating and conceiving a new musical based on a popular top 40 crossover band.
