Product description

The PowerStore VSS Provider Plug-in runs as a Windows service and serves as an interface between Windows Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) and the PowerStore system. The VSS HW Provider supports creation of LUN snapshots (Shadow Copies) with the iSCSI or FC protocols.

New features

The VSS Plug-in is now available for 64-bit Windows platforms. The 64-bit VSS Plug-in supports Windows 2012 R2, Windows 2016 and Windows 2019 (64-bit only).

1 Installation and upgrade considerations Installing the Plug-in

Download the PowerStore VSS provider from online support [Support Tools]. Refer to Microsoft’s documentation on installing a hardware VSS provider. 64-bit Plug-in

The 64-bit PowerStore VSS Plug-in uses the MIT C++ REST SDK open source code [cpprestsdk]. The C++ REST SDK is a Microsoft project for cloud-based client-server communication in native code using a modern asynchronous C++ API design.
