... SSL takes unified approach to online sales across brand portfolio... – 23 June 2010. hybris, a multi-channel commerce software vendor, and Javelin Group, an eCommerce consultancy and systems integrator, have announced that the new B2C eCommerce website for Durex in the UK, based on hybris Commerce, has successfully gone live. The new eCommerce website for Durex (www.durex.co.uk) confirms parent company SSL International’s determination to take a unified approach to its online sales strategy by investing in the same eCommerce platform across its portfolio of consumer products and its commitment to provide a consistent customer experience for each of its brands. The project has taken advantage of Javelin Group’s reference implementation of hybris to significantly accelerate deployment and greatly reduce overall project costs. Javelin Group implemented a new website for Scholl, another SSL brand, in 2009 which is being rolled out across 20 countries over the next 12 months. The new Durex website benefits from the same rich functionality provided for Scholl with a fully integrated Call Centre and tight integration with SSL International systems, including Microsoft Sharepoint and SAP. Waseem Haq, Head of Digital Marketing, SSL International plc, said: “The previous Durex website was not able to provide the eCommerce functionality that our customers have come to expect. “We wanted to combine our extensive knowledge of sexual well-being with the best possible online shopping experience and we are delighted that following the launch of the new website, our online Durex customers can now benefit from the same underlying eCommerce technology as our Scholl customers,” he concluded. Kees de Vos, Director of Technology, Javelin Group, said: “The ability to invest in one eCommerce platform across the entire organisation enables SSL to take a consistent approach to their eCommerce strategy. Our project accelerator solution maximises business user involvement and significantly speeds up the roll out of other sites in new territories.” Andy Piscina, UK Sales Director for hybris, commented: “We are very pleased that SSL has decided to extend the use of our eCommerce solution and that our work with Javelin Group is providing real business benefits to global organisations that want to develop their brand and sales online. As we move towards more internationalisation of brands, the ability to project consistent messages, content and data across languages and different websites is a critical success factor. Our solutions are perfectly aligned to support this kind of delivery and online presence.” About SSL International plc (www.ssl-international.com) SSL International, which has its global base in Manchester, has a portfolio of global consumer brands,
