It marks 20 years since this intrepid company started with no more than cross-dressing, a burning desire to bring classic theatre to the people of Australia, so that they might marvel dueling, at the greatest plays ever written and see their greed, lives, loves and aspirations truly reflected. In that 20 years we have played to over two betrayal, million Australians, taken our productions overseas and established a vast education laughter, network across the continent to inspire generations of students and teachers by mystery, turning ancient texts into living theatre. We have produced 30 of Shakespeare’s sex, plays, some of them several times, alongside love, other classics. Through our development arm, Mind’s Eye, nudity, we recognise Shakespeare’s stimulating legacy to artists and theatre-makers.
