SAR was stood down by the RCMP when all four subjects walked out on their own. 14 10:19 NEA LAND 3 13 3 7 Central Cariboo SAR members and 6 PEP Air 201233 members responded to search for 3 missing hunters in the Big Lake South Road FSR area in Williams Lake. RCMP stood down SAR members when the subjects, one adult and two teens, made contact with family. PEP Air was stood down before they went airborne. 14 16:31 NWE LAND 1 5 1 5 Terrace SAR members responded to search for a 201234 missing mushroom picker near New Aiyansh. The subject was located in good condition and escorted out by SAR and left with family members. 14 19:08 VIR INLAND 1 32 1 21 PEMO, 3 Salt Spring Island and 8 Metchosin 201235 WATER SAR members responded to search for a male missing last seen near Elk Lake. The subject was located deceased in the lake, by RCMP dive team, The subject was recovered by SAR and was passed to the Coroner. 14 19:41 NWE INLAND 1 6 1 4 SAR member from Atlin, 1 from Stewart and 1 201236 WATER from Terrace responded to locate an overdue Kayaker on Atlin Lake. RCMP advised that the subject had been found in good condition and SAR was stood down. 14 21:45 VIR LAND 4 8 4 8 Campbell River SAR members responded to 201237 rescue 4 hikers at Bauza Cove. 3 hikers made it out while the fourth was extricated suffering fractured ribs and was transferred to BCAS. 15 17:43 SWE LAND 1 2 1 2 Coquitlam SAR members responded to search 201238 for a lost female hiker on Eagle Mountain near Coquitlam. The hiker was located by SAR and returned to their vehicle. 16 00:05 SEA LAND 1 31 1 19 Arrow Lakes, 4 Rev SAR and 8 Kaslo SAR 201239 members responded to locate a missing male near the Galena Bay Ferry Terminal. The subject was located alive and was transferred to BCAS. 16 10:38 CTL INLAND 2 3 2 3 Penticton Fire Marine Rescue members 201240 WATER responded following a report of a boat engine fire on Skaha Lake. The fire was extinguished and the 2 uninjured subjects on board were towed to Skaha Marina by staff. 16 1352 SEA LAND 1 54 1 54 SAR members from Kaslo, Arrow Lakes, 201241 Nakusp, South Columbia and Castlegar responded to search for a missing man in the Duncan Lake area. The search was suspended by the RCMP as all areas of interest were thoroughly searched but the subject was not found. 16 1934 SWE LAND 1 17 1 15 Sunshine Coast SAR members assisted by 2 201242 RCM SAR members with a boat, responded to rescue an injured female in the Doriston area 1/2 Km inland from the town. SAR was successful in accessing, and packaging the subject for transport and hand off to BCAS. 16 19:58 NEA LAND 2 2 Robson Valley SAR members responded 201243 following an SOS spot beacon activation on Robson Pass near the Berg Lake Trail, in the area. The SOS beacon was cancelled and SAR was stood down. 16 22:28 NWE LAND 1 65 1 Approximately 65 SAR members from Bulkley 201244 Valley, Houston, Terrace, Kitimat, Fort St James, Nechako Valley, North Peace and Prince George responded along with PEP Air spotters and many convergent volunteers to search for a missing person in the Price Creek area of Kitwanga near New Hazelton. The subject had not been located at the time of this report and the search is ongoing. 17 12:50 NEA LAND 1 6 1 6 South Cariboo SAR members responded to 201245 rescue an injured female in the 100 Mile House area. When SAR arrived, Fire Rescue was already on scene and had packaged the subject. 17 16:17 NWE LAND 1 7 1 12 Terrace, and 1 SAR member 201246 responded to search for a missing mushroom picker in the Kispiox Valley area of New Hazelton. SAR located the subject in good condition. 17 18:18 NWE AIR 2 7 2 7 Bulkley Valley SAR members responded 201247 following reports of a downed aircraft with 2 people on board, in the Telkwa area. SAR was stood down while mustering, when local Fire Rescue members were able to access the area on ATVs. 18 12:53 CTL LAND 1 13 1 13 Kamloops SAR members responded to rescue 201248 an injured horseback rider that fell and was up a hillside 90 minutes from Barnhartvale Road. SAR successfully packaged and brought the subject out to BCAS. 18 1852 CTL INLAND 2 2 Shuswap SAR members responded to 201249 WATER investigate reports of an empty boat on Lee Creek at the mouth of the Little River. SAR stood down upon determining that the boaters had left the area earlier that day. 18 2039 VIR LAND 1 1 1 1 Metchosin SAR member responded to assist 201250 RCMP with locating a missing hiker/mushroom picker in the Mount Work area of Victoria. SAR was stood down by Police who had checked with family and discovered the subject had made it home on his own 19 0139 NEA LAND 1 6 1 6 Central Cariboo SAR members responded to 201251 search for a missing male whose vehicle was reported to have gone over and embankment near McLeese Lake Resort, in the Williams Lake area. SAR was stood down as the subject managed to extricate himself from the vehicle and hitch a ride into town where he was located by the RCMP. 19 11:36 NWE LAND 1 6 1 6 Fort St. James SAR members responded to 201252 rescue a female hiker, who slipped and fell 1.5 km up the trail in Mount Pope Provincial Park. The subject was located by SAR and brought out to the trail head, where they were transferred to BCAS. 19 11:22 CTL LAND 1 12 1 12 Shuswap SAR members responded to rescue 201253 an injured dirt biker on the Mount Ida FSR near Salmon Arm. The subject was located and successfully transferred to BCAS. 19 12:27 NEA LAND 1 3 1 3 Fort Nelson SAR members responded to assist 201254 RCMP in locating a hunter who missed several spot beacon check-ins from the area South of Toad River, Minors Peak and Yedhe Mountain. The SAR team made contact with the missing hunter and determined his spot beacon had failed but he was fine and in no need of assistance. . 19 CTL LAND 1 4 1 4 COSAR members responded to assist in locating 201255 and assisting a stranded motorist that became stuck east of Browne Lake, and was unable to relay his location to the tow truck operator he had called. SAR located the motorist and guided the tow truck to the location. 19 13:58 SWE LAND 1 29 1 18 Squamish, 1 Ridge Meadows, 4 Lions Bay, and 201256 6 Pemberton SAR members responded following an SOS ISPOT device activation north-west of Sigurd Peak in Squamish. A kayaker suffering a spinal injury, was extracted via heli and passed to BCAS. 20 1330 SEA LAND 1 8 1 8 Kaslo SAR members responded to search for a 201257 missing motorist in the Balfour area. SAR was stood down by the RCMP who suspected that the subject got a ride into Nelson. 20 1508 NEA LAND 2 5 2 5 Central Cariboo SAR members responded to 201258 assist two people who became stuck in the mud in Williams Lake. The two subjects were located and successfully extracted and transferred to RCMP and BCAS. 20 2146 SWE LAND 1 25 1 A total of 25 SAR members from Hope,Chilliwack, 201259 Kent/Harrison, Mission and Central responded to assist RCMP with a search for an overdue hunter 35 Km up the Nahatlach FSR. DANGEROUS GOODS

On 13 September, a fire broke out at 319 Front Street in New Westminster. On 14 September, the Ministry of Environment Response Officer (MOE RO) upgraded the fire to a Code 2 with an immediate downgrade to Code 1 due to the potential for heightened media attention.

On 14 September, a train carrying potash derailed at Mile 48 on the Yale Sub. 60 or more train cars left the tracks, spilling potash into Hunter Creek which feeds into the . The MOE RO raised the incident to Code 2 due to the potential environmental concerns and heightened media attention.

URBAN INTERFACE FIRE:

On 20 September, the CRD Fire Dispatch was approved under task to obtain assistance from the Canadian Coast Guard to suppress a fast-moving brush fire threatening a residence on Salt Spring Island.

MISCELLANEOUS

On 14 September, one night’s accommodation was provided for a returning traveler whose residence was not able to provide COVID-19 required isolation/quarantine. The Vancouver Airport was unable to provide assistance, and the CRC formerly held a contract to provide this service but that contract had since expired.
