Project Update Peter Lougheed Centre

Overview • The $79.3 million Vascular and Women’s Health redevelopment project at Peter Lougheed Centre will deliver a patient-centred care model that will improve access and quality of care to meet current Health Services standards. • The redevelopment encompasses the consolidation, renovation and expansion of services to the existing Vascular Surgery and Women’s Health programs. • The project will also facilitate the transfer of and improvements to services provided by the impacted departments of and Hemodialysis.

Redeveloped Acute Care Services • Vascular Surgery: • Women’s Health: Antepartum • Vascular Surgery: Inpatient/ step • Women’s Health: Postpartum down unit • Women’s Health: Neonatal intensive • Vascular Surgery: Surgical suite care • Women’s Health: Triage / Labour and • Impacted Department: Hemodialysis Delivery • Impacted Department: Pediatrics

Construction Update • The redevelopment consists of the following phases: o Phase 1 - Redevelopment of impacted departments (completed in April 2014); o Phase 2 - Vascular Surgery and Hybrid Operating Rooms, (completed and turned over to AHS in September 2015); and o Phase 3 - The Women’s Health Unit on level 3 is currently in construction. o New Neonatal - Drywall installation is complete, ceiling tile grid installation, flooring and painting have started.

o New Labour and Delivery Unit - demolition is underway.

Next Steps and Upcoming Activities • Construction work continues on the Phase 3 Women’s Health Unit. • Complete flooring and painting at Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. • Commence commissioning of the new air handling unit for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. • Complete demolition in labour and delivery unit. • Phase 3 Women’s Health Unit is expected to be complete and turned over to AHS in late 2017.
