DAVID Nicholas Winner: ARIA Producer Of The Year 2005 Nominated 2002, 2003 Winner: ARIA Engineer Of The Year 1987,1991 Nominated 1986,1988, 1989, 1990 Winner: Audio Tec & 301 Lifetime Achievement Award 2015 History After co founding and running Rhinoceros Recordings in Sydney Australia in the 1980s, I moved to the UK and worked as a freelance producer/mixer/engineer until returning to Australia in 2000. During my time at Rhinoceros, I worked on many of the significant Australian albums of that decade including, INXS’ Kick, X and Shabooh Shoobah, Midnight Oil’s Blue Sky Mining, Richard Clapton’s Glory Road and Solidarity, GANGgajan’s Sounds of Then and Australian Crawl’s, Semantics. Winning ARIA Engineer Of The Year on two occasions. 1987 & 1991 Based in London in the 90s, I worked throughout Europe and the USA with artists as diverse as Elton John, Pulp, Ash, Soul Asylum, Brian Adams, Sting, Rod Stewart, Marcella Detroit, Heroes Del Silencio and Johnny and David Hallyday. Achieving a US#1 with “All For Love” as a Co-Producer and numerous international #1s as a mix and recording engineer for UK producers Chris Thomas, Chris Kimsey and Phil Manzenera and French producer Pierre Jaconelli. Since returning to Australia in 2000, I have produced and mixed numerous albums including the debut #1 George album "Polyserena”, the debut #1 Zed album "Silencer" and tracks on the debut #1 Delta Goodrem album "Innocent Eyes". Winning ARIA “Producer of the Year” in 2005 with the Drag album "The Way Out". Alongside studio work, my live experience stretches back to the early 80s. Most notably broadcasting and recording Sir Elton John live from Barcelona before the Olympics and Johnny Halliday live in Las Vegas and countless other broadcasts, recordings and FOH mixes including the worlds first BYO FM event with GANGgajang in Brisbane Australia in the early 80s. In 2009 I re launched Rhinoceros as an independent label with the release of its first record and in November of that year Rhinoceros Publishing was accepted as a full member of APRA/AMCOS and CCLI. In 2013 I also partner with Szikla Technical to develop audio hardware and in 2015 we released the highly regarded Prodigal Duel Chanel Strip. I joined up with long time friends and work colleges Sebastian Chase and Graham "Buzz" Bidstrup to form SBD Music, launching Asquith Sessions and The Tracking Crew, to provide streaming content and to discover and develop new Australian talent.     Adventures of the Amazing Revelators

    The Adventures of the Amazing Revelators "I don't see this as a greatest hits recording, more an opportunity to pay homage to some of the great writers of our time. The Revelators were formed out of a desire to keep this music alive. Some of these songs have been with us for some time - others we were drawn to because of their charm.... and every word is true." Joe Camilleri These were the words that graced The Revelators' 1991 debut CD release. 'Debut' is an odd word to use for a group of musicians who have been an integral part of the Australian music scene for so long. The Revelators The Revelators story started in the late 80's when Joe Camilleri, along with friends James Black and Joe Creighton, took to the stage as 'The Delta Revelators' . Their desire was to blow out the serious days' work with people who shared the same interest in music and who simply wanted to play it. On stage with Pete Luscombe on drums (Black Sorrows, Paul Kelly, Rebecca's Empire) and Jeff Burstin on guitar (Black Sorrows, Vika & Linda) the word spread that this was a great band. Soon the occasional gig was not enough to keep the punters happy. Regular sessions at ID's (now The Continental) and The Botanical Hotel had the fans asking 'When are you going to do a CD?' 'Amazing Stories' 'Amazing Stories' was released in 1991 and everyone in the band agreed it was the best album they had ever made. The fans felt the same and the CD is still eagerly sought after by roots music aficionados.

    UNITS 3 AND 4 PRESCRIBED LIST OF ARRANGEMENTS VCE MUSIC GROUP PERFORMANCE 2006–2010 2008 VCE Music: Group performance Units 3 and 4 Prescribed list of arrangements This list is revised and published annually. Students undertaking Music: Group performance must include two works from this list in their end-of-year performance examination program. Study design requirements In the VCE Music Group performance study, students are required to perform two (2) works from a prescribed list of arrangements published by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) as part of the end-of-year performance examination program. Details of this requirement are described on pages 58–61 of the VCE Music Study Design (2006–2009). Students must select one of the following options: • perform two works in the styles in which they are listed; or • perform one work in the style in which it is listed and another listed work in any one of the listed styles; or • perform two notated arrangements from the list; or • perform one notated arrangement from the list and another listed work in any one of the listed styles. All groups are required to perform in a range of styles to satisfy Units 3 and 4 Outcome 1 requirements and the end-of- year performance examination criteria. The prescribed list of arrangements The Prescribed list is divided into two sections. Arrangements in Section A are listed by performer. Section A is divided into six (6) style categories. Arrangements in Section B are listed by composer and/or arranger. Section B is divided into seven categories.

The Queensland Government is proud to support this showcase event for a second year. It is a fabulous way to pay tribute to the many talented women who are creating music or working behind the scenes to support Australia’s Annastacia Palaszczuk MP flourishing music industry. PREMIER OF QUEENSLAND MINISTER FOR TRADE We are delighted the Awards have returned to Queensland, home to some of this country’s finest female musicians. We recognise however, that while they have found success and been embraced by audiences the world over, there are many other gifted women just like them, right across Australia, who are struggling to break through because of gender barriers. Female artists tend to earn less than male performers, receive less airplay on Australian radio and hold little more than one-quarter of senior and strategic roles in key music industry associations. Shining a dedicated spotlight on these issues and recognising the exceptional work of female artists and industry professionals, is a vital step in creating greater visibility and opportunities for all Australian women in music. This is what these Awards are about.     21/07/09 Vocal star Katie Noonan jazzes up Lennon/McCartney hits at WAAPA She has been described as having ‘one of Australia’s most beautiful voices’ and has been praised for her ‘extraordinary versatility’. Katie Noonan, best known as the angelic voice of the band George, brings her unique vocal talent to the main stage of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in early September for three performances only of the timeless love songs of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. As part of WAAPA’s Jazz in the Theatre series, Katie Noonan will perform The Music of Lennon and McCartney on Wednesday 9, Thursday 10 and Friday 11 September at 7.30pm in the Geoff Gibbs Theatre. She will be supported on stage by WAAPA’s Jazz and Contemporary Music students. The songs performed will be taken from Noonan’s most recent CD release, Blackbird. Recorded in New York in August 2008, this collection of classic Lennon and McCartney-penned songs has been magnificently re-interpreted by Noonan and her all-star jazz quintet: Grammy award winning saxophonist Joe Lovano, renowned guitarist John Scofield, exceptional drummer Lewis Nash, Grammy award winning legendary double-bass player Ron Carter, and Melbourne-based keyboard player Sam Keevers. Much-loved Beatles songs such as “Here, There and Everywhere”, “Across the Universe”, “Eleanor Rigby” and “Michelle” are brought to life through Noonan’s enchanting voice and musicianship. “I don’t think there’s a single musician on the planet who hasn’t been influenced by the Beatles in some way,” Katie commented when Blackbird was released.
