 Summary

This 1967 Olds 442 was a very solid car at the time of purchase by the current owner. The body and paint work was performed over a period of eight months at Swag Custom Rides in New Britain, CT. All of the original born with sheet metal remains with the exception of the aforementioned rear floor pan section replacement. The refinishing procedures utilized high end PPG products including PPG’s Glamour Clear clear coat. The vehicle received a full wet sand, buff and polish procedure leaving a mirror-like show car finish. There is minimal body filler in the vehicle and the body panels are laser straight. This was a great canvas to start with and the end result shows. Factory seams and welds are still intact and the body lines are crisp and proper to the point of being better than factory issue. The car was obviously well cared for prior to the current owner’s purchase as the interior upholstery all remains as factory issue.

This car can be considered an incredible survivor. The purpose of the engine change is unknown but the choice of a power plant was top notch. The car runs incredibly well due to the power enhancing modifications and proper tuning. The suspension and brake upgrades also bring fantastic results and make this car a modern driver. Factory sheet metal cars are showing a higher value and a higher demand in the market and they are becoming more difficult to find. Especially one that was as all around solid as this. The car has been gone through front to rear and the nickel and dimes have already been spent. This is a true turnkey car and not a typical build where cost savings were the highest priority. One should be confident that the car, if properly cared for and adult driven, will provide many happy miles as well as many trophies. The list of upgrades is extensive, logical and well thought out. There are no systems that are not up to the task nor are there components that are overkill to where they do not function well with the rest of the car. A very proper build from a very solid starting point. At this time there are no appraiser suggested repairs or modifications, nor are there any maintenance issues waiting.
