Bhungar Khan Manganiar group from Spic Macay

A group of highly skilled folk musicians from the Thar desert of , Bhungar Khan Manganiar group mesmerized the SAIoneers with their expertise in traditional Rajasthani musical instruments, dance and songs on Monday, September 19, 2016 at International School. Bhungar Khan is an acclaimed musician who belongs to the clan of hereditary professional musicians Manganiar Langhas, who have kept the traditional history of Rajasthan alive with their music and song since generations.

This is part of a promotional campaign by The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY), a voluntary youth movement which promotes intangible aspects of Indian cultural heritage by promoting Indian classical music, classical dance, folk music, yoga, meditation, crafts

and other aspects of Indian culture; it is a movement with chapters in over 300 towns all over the world.

Bhungar Khan is from Taloon ka Gaon village in the of Rajasthan.He is the worthy son of Multan Khan Manganiar and trained by his guru Gaffur Khan Manganiar .He is from the Marwar (Western Rajasthan).Bhugra plays the khartals which is like a percussion instrument that produces a rhythm by clicking two flat hardwood blocks together in each hand. Bhugra plays with an energy and intensity.He has been invited by the ICCR to play at concerts abroad, on numerous occasions. He has performed in several music festivals in Delhi , Mumbai, Chennai, Goa, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Banaras, Guwhati, Ahmedabad, Alwar, Mount Abu etc and internationally in London, Thailand, Norway, Austria, Denmark, Australia, Germany, Russia, Estonia, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Slovakia, Yemen, Stockholm, Sri Lanka etc.

He is also a recognized musician on All Radio, Barmer.

SAI Netritva Camps

The SAI Netritva Camps started on the21st September with its full vigor and energy.The boys of class XII were the 1st batch to start off the Camp this year which was followed by the girls and then the other classes followed.Gradually all the classes would have fun and also participate in the several adventure sports activities besides communication skills and team building activities.These two days camp for the students would be immensely beneficial for the students.
