Edmonton Garrison COMMUNITY GUIDE Fall 2019

Programs, services, and community events for defence team members, veterans, families and the general public. Commander’s Message

As I write my first Welcome Message for the Community Guide, we are into high-readiness and well-prepared to support our operational commitments. This year will see members heading to various areas of the world as well as supporting domestic operations and while the tempo remains high, remains committed to the Readiness, Resilience and Growth campaign, which aims to ensure that both members and their families are well-supported physically, psycho-socially, and spiritually.

I am excited to be here and am looking forward to seeing the community during upcoming events this fall. The programs, activities, and services offered by Personnel Support Programs and the Military Family Resource Centre listed in this issue of the Garrison Community Guide are here to support you and your family. I encourage you to take a look through the pages to find out what programs are available for all ages. You will also find clubs, fitness and recreation activities, personal development and parenting programs, and support for family absences.

If you are recently posted to Edmonton, I would like to extend a warm welcome and invite you to the Fall Expo and Community Picnic taking place on August 29. This will be an excellent opportunity to meet other members of the community. The more the merrier!
