A funny, sincere, poignant comedy HE CIVIC A N T U that’s just a wee bit naughty, Calendar Girls is based on the true tale of a I DI G TO H IN R Yorkshire women’s club that earned money for its village hospital and cancer Y I A U research by having members pose nude for an annual calendar. The story, which made L M P for a popular 2003 film starring Helen Mirren and Julie Walters, opens on the Civic stage February 9th. But the play is not about nudity, it’s about friendship, female bonding, and working together for a common goal.
