9 Like many newcomers in this area, Misty moved to DC for an exciting job opportunity. After moving across FLAGSHIP 1972 country, she didn’t know many people. She soon felt isolated and turned to alcohol for the first time in her life. Things spiraled quickly for Misty – she lost her job and, unable to find a new position, she found herself homeless. “N STREET VILLAGE While staying with various acquaintances, Misty’s health took a turn and she was hospitalized repeatedly IS THE BEST THING for pancreatitis. While in the Recovery Housing program, Misty learned the hard way that recovery is a continual process, with bumps along the way. She relapsed again while here but had the courage to learn from the experience and move forward, starting her recovery journey again the next day. “... Robyn has thrived at Miriam’s House and is focused on her health and sobriety. She recently had knee replacement surgery – something she wouldn’t have been able to handle before. Once her knee is fully healed, she hopes to get a part-time job working with dogs.

These results represent the activities of N Street Village, Inc. as well as its building operations. NSV Inc. is the owner of a Low Income Housing Tax Credit property. In FY16 total revenue was $8,842,549 of which $7,247,733 is operating revenue. Total expenses were $7,248,469 including $637,159 of depreciation and $371,046 of donated goods and services which are non-cash expenses. These results are unaudited. Audited financial statements for the last three fiscal years are available on our website and at Guidestar.org. The Housing and Supportive Services line includes Bethany’s Women Center, Luther Place Night Shelter, Recovery Housing, Wellness Center, Miriam’s House, Erna’s House, and Permanent Supportive Housing.
