Our response to homelessness

w e h o cares e r v i c e s t o help the c o m m u n i t y

The City takes a collaborative, cooperative approach to solutions to homelessness with a strong partnership between the Sheriff’s Department and homeless services providers. We link people to programs which will assist them and enforce laws to protect the safety of all community members. To report problems with people who are homeless:

n Call Social Services at (323) 848-6510 if you observe a person who is homeless who needs assistance. An outreach team from PATH will follow up.

n Call the Sheriff’s Department at (310) 855-8850 if a person who is homeless is trespassing, harassing, or engaging in other illegal activity.

n If you or someone you know is homeless and wants services, call Social Services at the number above, or come in to City Hall during business hours. Outside of business hours, call the Sheriffs or go to the Station at 780 N. San Vicente Blvd. Deputies will transport people to PATH’s Regional Center for services.

n If you are a business or property owner, call the Sheriff’s Department to file aLetter of Agency which authorizes entry to your property if there is a report of illegal activity.
