El Exchange Program (ExPro) is the best tool we have to meet the main objective of IAAS, mutual understanding and knowledge exchange. With an international community spread around the world over more than 50 countries, it opens the opportunity for many students to travel, learn about agricultural and related sciences while sharing experiences and ideas.
The Exchange Program changes I always say that doing an ExPro lives. That's the power of IAAS! can change your life. RExCo of Asia-pacific RExCo of Africa Suman Pathak Jacobina Oduro 3 What is the Exchange Program The IAAS Exchange Program – ‘ExPro’- exists over 60 years and more than 20.000 students have been exchanged with IAAS. The IAAS Exchange Program gives (or should give) opportunities to all students to do a traineeship (internship) in countries with a recognized local committee of IAAS. By organizing and/or participating in ‘ExPro’, trainees can learn and experience things that cannot be learned out of course books.
The IAAS Exchange Program can be split in three categories: Ceres, Archimedes and Libertas.
The minimum duration of an IAAS ExPro internship is 3 weeks, the maximum duration is 1 year.
Aims ✔ A positive learning experience. ✔ Development of theoretical and practical leadership skills ✔ Opportunity to apply their personal and professional skills, knowledge, attitudes, and values both by working for the organization and by living in the host community. ✔ Develop the student’s awareness and knowledge of social issues and different practices in the hosting country to gain intercultural competencies. ✔ Opportunity to contribute to the student’s personal and professional life goals
4 Ceres
Ceres internships are organized on farms and the most common IAAS internships. Mostly, accommodation is offered by the family of the farmer. Ceres internships are unique for our international association, this is why we should make sure that this beautiful program doesn’t die out. It is the most common IAAS internship, which organized in farms either crop production of livestock. The types that include Ceres are: - Agricultural Machinery - Food technology - Agricultural production - Forestry - Greenhouse and horticulture
The participant will learn the basics of planting, harvest, soil type, or internal husbandry. Participants could be trained in the dairy field or work alongside seasoned farmers. Participant might be placed in a industry that will expect them to take control the process, product packing, according to the regulation in each industry.
5 Archimedes
Archimedes internships are all internships that are not organized on farms. Four subgroups exist:
1. Research Internships at a research organization.
.2. Education Internships connected to teaching practices.
3. Management Intern is involved in managerial tasks such as marketing, finance, bookkeeping.
4. Engineering The student is more involved in technical processes, ICT development, etc.

Libertas Internships is a type of volunteering internship. It involves with village development and empowerment in the field of education, environmental, agricultural and community development.
