Hockey is a fun that requires a St. Peters Hockey Club Program strong foundation in skating. Skaters who are eligible for Learn to Hockey Skate class may also join the St. Peters Hockey Club Learn to program.

The St. Peters Rec-Plex has partnered with the St. Peters Hockey Club to give youth in our area a chance to build their skills from skating to Learn to Play 1 or 2 beginning hockey to club play. Learn to Play 1 (or Learn to Play 2): We start kids in LTP 1 and like them to go through LTP 2 before entering our other programs. Your child can learn to skate at the Rec-Plex and progress to play *Players must be 4 years old to start. hockey with the St. Peters Hockey Club organization. Check the progression chart the next page to find out where your child should start.

Learn to Hockey Skate: For skaters who have completed the Tot Advanced or Basic 1 skating class. Skaters will develop proper hockey skating technique, stops, and introductory stick-handling skills. Skaters may take this class until a St. Peters Hockey Learn to Play session begins (October or June). and are required. It is also highly recommended to have gloves. $10 discount if you register up to (2) days in advance!

Hockey Power Skating Skills: This class is open to all hockey skaters who have completed a learn to hockey skate class. This class will be divided into beginner and advanced skaters as necessary. It is designed to improve proper stroking techniques, edges, turns, control, conditioning, and stamina.

Players must have previous skating experience and are required to furnish their own hockey stick, helmet, and shin guards. are optional and Adult Drop-In Hockey skates are available to rent if needed. Sessions are for hockey skaters looking to improve their skills. Max. 25 skaters/session. Skaters must wear skates, gloves & helmet. Under 18 must wear full shield or facemask. Adults must wear at least half shield.
