ONLINE ENROLLMENT NUMBERS

First and foremost, thank you to the parents and guardians of the 31.92% of our students have completed their registration forms through Skyward!

For those that have not yet had a chance to register their students, we need your assistance. Did you know that this registration is replacing many of the forms from the parent packet normally distributed in August just prior to school beginning? And did you know that much of the information is pre-populated for your student?

Here are a few helpful hints to register your RETURNING student:

1. The primary guardian (listed as #1 in student’s profile) or primary username must be the one to log in to Skyward 2. You must log in from a desktop/laptop computer (not a mobile device) 3. For all returning students, look for The Returning Student tile at the end of your student’s profile 4. Unless you need to make changes to Emergency contacts, do not fill out the Family Information tile – save yourself the time! 5. Finally – please call Mrs. Denney at 830-357-2613 or come to our On-Line Registration Open House on Wednesday, March 27, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. if you need any assistance

Thank you for the partnership! We appreciate you!

Champion High School will be hosting the August Heart Cardiac Screening event on April 29, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the Science Classrooms. This is a free screening and open to all athletes, band, dance, cheer and ROTC students in current 8 – 12 grades.

We are also in need of some parent / adult volunteers to help with the event. We need help with the sign in table and other logistical things to ensure that the event will run smoothly. We would need the volunteers to be here around 3:00 and we would be done no later than 6:00. If parents are interested in volunteering, please email Terry Gault at [email protected]

Attached is a flyer and you can register on the website under the heart screenings tab. www.augustheart.org. Please see attached flier.

Please encourage everyone to sign up for this important screening event.

A representative will be on our campus to get our students fitted for their Prom tuxedo, help pick out a rental and take a minimal payment of $20.00 that will go towards their rental. Coupons will be handed out to those students who are not ready to pick out their rental just yet. When they are ready, they will be able to take these coupons to any location for the discount.

Please mark your calendar:

WHAT: Men’s Wearhouse WHEN: Friday, April 5, 2019 TIME: During both lunches LOCATION: CHS Main Foyer PAYMENT METHOD: Credit Card only (NO CASH OR CHECK WILL BE ACCEPTED THAT DAY)

We will be hosting our annual Senior Send Off!!!! on Friday, May 24th. Our seniors could wear their graduation cap and gown while walking the hallways of Cibolo Creek, Fair Oaks, Kendall and Van Raub Elementary Schools. If your child did not attend elementary school here, THEY WILL STILL PARTICIPATE! They can go to whichever school they like, tag along with their BFF or go on the bus to visit our newest elementary Van Raub!

Upon their return to campus, they will have a field day filled with food, games, huge water slides and more!!!!

So, we are looking for assistance! We need gift cards in any denomination to any place a college student would want to spend money! Retail stores, restaurants, movies, amazon, etc. We would also like to buy some BIG prizes, so if you would rather make a monetary donation that would be fantastic!

Please click on the link to sign up PRIZES for Senior Send Off. Let us make this event a memory our seniors will not forget!

Parents, we encourage your student(s) stop by the library to check the Lost-N-Found before the end of the year.

There has been a huge collection of: Lunchboxes, Backpacks, Athletic / clothing, etc. Anything that has not been claimed by the end of May will be donated.

We also encourage that your student(s) name is written in / on items so that they may be easily identified by their owners.

CHARGING CHARGERS:

Our Engineering team rallied from regionals and gave a super creative performance! Their 1 Drew James engineering structure held over 450lbs and the 2 Anneliese Martinez musical skit they performed got a standing ovation from the audience! Unfortunately, the 3 Will Baxter instant challenge (there are two parts to their 4 Tessa Kenworthy score, engineering and instant challenge) proved to be a little TOO challenging. This 5 Lauren Cardenas team did amazing at the state level! 6 Matthew Villescas This team is made up of juniors, so they can 7 Joey Tompkins only continue to improve next year!

Our Extreme team gave the absolute BEST performance I’ve ever seen! The judges were amazed at their talent! No other team we saw even came close to CHS! ☺ Elaine Bourbon was totally the MVP of that performance! Her off-the-cuff, dry, deadpan jokes had the audience crying with laughter (myself included). These graduating seniors are truly special kids!

1st Place Extreme 1 Elaine Bourbon

2 Tyler Carson 3 Anna Coulter

4 Ethan Perryman

UIL State CX

Congratulations to freshman Leon Petriu and Ethan Coffin for their 2-2 performance at 5A UIL State CX Debate. Our first CX team to make it to State with many more to come.

Girls District Golf

Congratulations to the girls’ golf team that won both 1st and 2nd place yesterday at the district tournament. Both teams are advancing to regionals and will be the sole representatives of our district at regionals. In addition, Emily Ritchie was our district champion with a 76-75, Prestley Hammond took 2nd place with an 80-77, and Kaylee Grizzaffi was third overall with an 80-81 – some exceptional golf but even better attitudes and competitiveness on the course.

The district champion team was Emily Ritchie, Prestley Hammond, Kaylee Grizzaffi, Emma Finger and Haley Williamson. The 2nd place team who came back to beat TIVY on day 2 was Morgan Thompson, Jocelyn Nevarez, Taylor Reyes and Tru Love.

The girls played both days with grit and great attitudes, very proud of them.
