Taking time away from work due to illness? We ask all patients to remember that an employer does not require that you provide a sick note from a GP for the first seven days of an illness (this includes days of the weekend). It is permissible to self-certificate for this period of time.

Please see https://www.gov.uk/taking-sick-leave for more details.

Changes to booking patient transport The provider of Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services (PTS) for Bristol, North Somerset and South Clinical Commissioning Groups will change to E-zec Medical from 1 April 2017.

Along with this change in provider, the way PTS is booked has also changed. The new process requires the patient or their carer to directly make a transport request with E-zec Medical.

All bookings must be made via telephone with E-zec’s call centre which will assess each request against the national Department of Health (DOH) eligibility criteria to ascertain the need for transport. Please use the following patient line number, 0300 777 6688, which is active Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Did you know that every GP surgery now has a Patients Participation Group? Commonly abbreviated to “PPG”, we are here to keep patients up-to-date with practice developments and relay any concerns to the GPs and management team behind the practice.

If you have a complaint then your first action should be to contact the Practice Manager, who will investigate your concern and take action to resolve it. The PPG will become involved if you do not find a satisfactory resolution to your problem after you’ve directly contacted the practice management.

If you would like to raise an issue with the PPG or join it yourself, you can contact Rosemary Dibble, the chair of the group, using [email protected]. We meet as committee every two months. Our meetings are attended by the Practice Manager and a GP Partner, and we discuss all aspects of the practice in order to help ensure the best service for patients.

Whilst we do help patients with their concerns, good news would also be very welcomed. Please let the Practice Manager know when you feel someone has been of great help to you, as it's important that we thank the staff for the work they do at the surgery.
