  • MOTO3 RECORD: 20X KTM – ONE SEASON UNBEATEN!
PRESS INFORMATION, 2013-10-28 MOTO3 RECORD: 20x KTM – ONE SEASON UNBEATEN! Álex Márquez of Spain emerged the winner in the final meters of the Moto3 Grand Prix of Japan at the Motegi circuit to give KTM its 20th consecutive victory – the new record in the small class of the FIM Motorcycle World Championship! The series started at the same place one year ago by former and future Red Bull Ajo KTM rider Danny Kent (UK), who also Danny Kent (UK) with the first victory at Motegi (J) 2012 won three rounds later at Valencia. The Spaniard Luis Salom is with seven victories onboard the KTM RC250 GP Moto3 bike the most successful rider in this period, followed by Alex Rins with six wins and Moto3 World Champion 2012 Sandro Cortese (D) and Maverick Viñales with two victories each. 26 victories in 33 races Since the comeback of KTM in the new Moto3 category at the beginning of the 2012 season overall 26 victories out of 33 races went to riders sitting on KTM driven bikes. Cortese took three more wins in his World Championship season furthermore Luis Salom and Jonas Folger scored two and one victory on their KALEX-KTM bikes. Sandro Cortese took the second win right after at Sepang (MAL) and also sealed the Moto3 title for KTM The championship now goes to the final round in Valencia (E) on a knife’s edge with Salom still in the lead by two points from Viñales with Rins five points behind the leader. Everything points to a great race for the sport, the Spanish fans and for KTM, who already won the constructors championship a few rounds ago and are in line to take their second World Championship title after Cortese of the Red Bull Ajo KTM team won the first ever Moto3 title in 2012.

The move was made to try to improve safety by reducing cornering speeds, and in a marginal way for cost reasons; the winner was decided by bid.[1] Michelin, one of the two tyre suppliers in 2008, decided not to bid for the supply,[2] effectively declaring Bridgestone the winner, which was confirmed on 18 October 2008.[3] Bridgestone will be the sole tyre supplier from 2009 to 2011. Only race spec tyres will be provided to the teams, eliminating qualifying tyres, in use until 2008.

  • Simoncelli, Di Meglio and Dunlop Celebrate in Style!
THE OFFICIAL MAGAZINE OF DUNLOP MOTORSPORT IN TOUCH [ www.injection.tv ] ISSUE TEN, NOVEMBER 2008 Simoncelli, di Meglio and Dunlop celebrate in style! Marco Simoncelli and Alvaro Bautista have been the most consistent finishers in the MotoGP 250cc category, each scoring in 13 of the 15 races this year and are first and second in the riders' standings with one race remaining, in Valencia at the end of October. With his third place finish in Malaysia mid-October, seconds behind Bautista at the chequered flag, it was Simoncelli who was crowned the 2008 250cc champion and the Italian celebrated by completing a helmet-less victory lap around the track. Simoncelli has scored five wins to Bautista's four so far this year, but the Italian has consistently finished on the podium. Mid-season he was on devastating form, finishing second to Mika Kallio in France, and then winning the Spanish and German Grands Prix, finishing second in Britain, and third at the Dutch Grand Prix. Bautista had fallen far behind by the time the bikes lined up in Spain, having scored one win, but just 16 more points in the Mike di Meglio wins the Australian 125cc race and Dunlop's 12th straight category title opening six races. The Spaniard worked hard during the second half of the year, starting on his home ground where he was second to Simoncelli, and that led Dunlop celebrates another successful to a run of six straight podium finishes, culminating in victory in South Africa. The series was interrupted by Hurricane motorcycle racing season in 2008 Ike, which caused the cancellation of the Dunlop is celebrating another American 250cc Grand Prix, but in the Win number 50 came with performance.” next three races in Japan, Australia and fantastically successful season Valentino Rossi at the 1999 British “We thank the teams for putting Malaysia, Simoncelli again applied the in motor cycle racing.

2021 MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Maverick Viñales Biography Viñales was born in Figueres, Spain, on 12th January 1995. He began racing in minimotos at just three years of age before moving on to motocross. In 2002 his passion for speed brought him to circuit racing. He competed in the Catalonian 50cc Championship and followed it up with several successful seasons in the 70cc ‘metrakit’ bikes. Viñales got hold of the Catalonian 125cc Championship Title in 2007, he successfully defended his crown in 2008, and won the Mediterranean Trophy that same year. In 2009, he moved up to the CEV Buckler 125GP series, partnering with Miguel Oliveira in the Blusens-BQR team. Viñales secured the Rookie of the Year award, finishing as the runner-up to Alberto Moncayo in the championship standings by just four points and claiming four successive podiums during that season. In 2010, Viñales and Oliveira joined different Blusens teams and battled it out for the CEV Buckler 125GP Championship Title. Despite winning two races to Oliveira’s four, Viñales won the title by two points, thanks to finishing on the podium at all seven races of the season. The European Championship Title was also decided between the two riders, and again it was Viñales who came out on top. The Spaniard moved to the FIM 125cc World Championship for the 2011 season with the SuperMartXé VIP team. He impressed during pre-season testing at Valencia and finished ninth on his Grand Prix debut in Qatar. At Le Mans, Viñales took his first front-row start in third place and went on to seal his first victory by 0.048s at the age of 16 years, 123 days.
