COROMANDEL Tour and SCALLOP FESTIVAL 2013 4 Days / 3 Nights

Visit the mighty Coromandel, Scallop Festival and areas … Sunny Peaceful Paradise.

DAY ONE Friday September 13

After the usual pick-ups from your home we head south with a morning tea stop in the lovely quaint town of Maramarua. From here we will continue on to Thames for some free time, and also our lunch break. After Lunch we will continue up the coast for a few kilometres to the Tropical Butterfly Gardens. After visiting the butterflies we will continue on through to Coromandel to the Driving Creek Railway - New Zealand’s only narrow-gauge railway - running through spectacular native forest. We are staying at Coromandel Anchor Lodge for our first night’s accommodation. (Bed + B/fast)

DAY TWO Saturday September 14 Today we set off across the beautiful and scenic road through to Whitianga for Scallop Festival for the day. After the festival, we continue heading south to Tairua. We stay in Tairua at Pacific Harbour Lodge for the next two nights. (Bed + B/fast)

DAY THREE Sunday September 15

Today, after a leisurely start, we will take a day trip around the local area, and world famous beaches. Heading north back up the peninsula we will take a visit to the beautiful beaches of and – where if you wish you can dig a hole, (if the tide permits) and take a dip in the natural hot water. Then to Estate for lunch and some wine tasting. After this exhilarating day out enjoying New Zealand’s beauty, we will head back into Tairua again for the evening. (Bed + B/fast)

DAY FOUR Monday September 16 Today is unfortunately our last day, and time to head home. After leaving Tairua we will take a drive around the fast becoming “Exclusive” area of , with some free time to take a wander around the shops, or the beach. From here we head back north on our homeward journey. We will take a short stop at Manukau City to replenish any fruit and veges that you may require, before arriving home late afternoon. Welcome home.
