PROLOG: FEDERWEG 22 3008 BERN +41(0)79 222 69 75 WWW.PROLOG-MUSIC.CH Release Info: Artist: Akku Quintet Album-Title: Stages Of Sleep Format: Album Label: Morpheus Records Distribution CH: Godbrain Full Album Stream: http://akkuquintet.bandcamp.com/album/stages-of-sleep We spend about one third of our life sleeping. However, we know relatively little about this vital necessity. When sleeping the body proceeds into a state of external rest. Pulse and respiratory rate drop, and cerebral activity changes. While falling asleep and waking up dreams and actualities merge into a strange reality. We drift into a sea of dreams and imaginary worlds. Mostly we only remember dream scraps or mood images which suddenly reappear in the middle of everyday life. What we really "experience" in the parallel world of sleep and what happens within our brains remains a mystery. Why do we sleep and what happens to us while we apparently do nothing? Everyone who knows the "snooze" button knows what it feels like to be drifting back and forth between sleep and wakefulness. The morning confrontation with this phenomenon fascinated the Bernese drummer and composer Manuel Pasquinelli and led to his idea to set music to a sleep cycle. Inspired by the dreamy and scientific aspects of sleep, these compositions have grown to a "dream suite" over the past 2-3 years. This musical sleep cycle can now be listened to on the debut album "Stages Of Sleep" by Pasquinelli's band AKKU quintet . Every piece corresponds to one of the five stages of sleep, which we live through several times a night.

  • Hike the Parks
Hike the Parks ~Rulebook~ Hello! Welcome to Hike the Parks, a U.S. National Parks game with authentic hikes and cool facts. Roll the dice to visit new states, territories and Park Sites; learn cool facts at the Visitor’s Center; go on hikes; and take pictures! Brief Summary: 1. The winner is the first player to reach 200 Joy. Change the amount to shorten or lengthen the game. 2. Joy is earned by going on hikes, taking pictures while on hikes, meeting nice hitchhikers and optionally earning badges along the way. 3. Players roll two die to travel to different U.S. states. For example, if a 2 & 3 is rolled, a player can move across a maximum of 5 state borders to visit a park for that turn. If a player only crosses 3 of the 5 allowed borders for that turn, the remaining 2 CANNOT be carried over to another turn. 4. A player gains one Energy and one Water for each state border crossed on their turn. For example, traveling from Washington to Alaska gains two Energy and two Water. 5. After crossing at least one border, a player must draw one On the Road card for that turn. If the player remains in the same state, they do not need to pick up an On the Road card. 6. After visiting a new state or deciding to stay in the same state, a player may visit one Park Site (or stay in the same Park Site) and “visit its Visitors Center” by drawing a Visitor’s Center Trivia card to learn about a random National Park Site.

  • Rattlesnake Mountain Farmington CT
This Mountain Hike In Connecticut Leads To Something Awesome Looking for a mountain hike in Connecticut that’s truly unique? Then look no further! At the top of this mountain is a hidden site, unknown by many Connecticut residents. But a little piece of folk history is waiting to be rediscovered by you. So let’s get going! Rattlesnake Mountain in Farmington is a 2.3-mile hike off of Route 6. Part of the Metacomet Ridge, this short trail can be a little taxing for beginners, but it's totally worth it! Be prepared to catch some fantastic sights atop this scenic vista as you explore the rare plants and traprock ridges. An increasing number of locals have begun using the ridges here for rock climbing. They may look for intimidating, but they make for great exercise. Not to mention you'd be climbing volcanic rock. At 750 feet high and 500 feet above the Farmington River Valley, there's no shortage of views. But the coolest thing atop this mountain isn't the sight. It's Will Warren's Den! This boulder rock cave is a local historic site that will leave you breathless. Who knew Connecticut had caves quite like this! 1 The plaque affixed to the cave reads "Said Warren, according to legend, after being flogged for not going to church, tried to burn the village of Farmington. He was pursued into the mountains, where some Indian squaws hid him in this cave." It may not look like much from the outside, but the inside is a cool oasis.

Before the invention of electric lights, typical adults slept for 9 hours. When all cues to time of day are removed, typical adults will average 10.3 hours of sleep daily, similar to their cousins, the apes and monkeys. However, studies show that the length of sleep is not what causes us to be refreshed upon waking. The key factor is the number of complete sleep cycles we enjoy. Each sleep cycle contains five distinct phases, which exhibit different brain wave patterns (see more in chapter 2): Pre-sleep: beta waves, or normal alertness.
