6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Two Hundred and Twenty-Seven MORE Pages of Vintage Night Raven Stories Than the 1990 Reprint Collection!By an memberTwo hundred and twenty-seven (!) MORE pages of original material than the earlier Night Raven reprint collection from 1990! That's right, you get an amazing 227 extra pages of Night Raven stories that were not included in the earlier reprint edition put out by Marvel UK almost thirty years ago. Now, mind you, the extra stories in this volume are TEXT stories, not comics.This is where Alan Moore contributed to the Night Raven mythos; he wrote five of these text stories. However, all of these text stories do have a panel or two per page (or so) of Night Raven art, featuring work not seen since their original publication back in the 70's and 80's. Artists who contributed a panel or two in these text stories include (but are not limited to) the legendary Jim Steranko, John Bolton, , Steven Dillon and .These text stories are a lot of fun and are actually long, with some running through multiple issues of their original source material (this makes sense, as the Marvel UK titles were published weekly, in most cases). For instance, Moore's "Sadie's Story" runs for 13 pages. Several of 's stories run a page, with others running six or seven pages, which would have been two issues originally. At of the text stories collection is a "Mastermind Specification Scan" of Night Raven which is kind of like an entry from the old "Handbook of the " comic. Very cool inclusion!Speaking of originally, the pages in this volume are shot from the original pages of the Marvel UK comics and are reproduced in crystal clear type and all the pages look like they were digitally cleaned up as they have no smudging or blurred type. Also, the Night Raven comics that were reproduced in the 1990 volume are included and are in their original glorious black and white, not recolored like in the 1990 volume.All in all, this is a vital book for all Night Raven fans, fans of Marvel UK and its host of (now) famous creators, or just comic fans in general. Many, many thanks to Collection Editor Mark Beazley and the research of Stuart Vandal for the no doubt arduous task of making this volume possible. Thanks also to Steve Parkhouse and for their creation of Night Raven.
