Proposed Brief
• Ascertain the needs and requirements of community • Budget approximately €7m. (Not include the cost of any buildings). • Investigate retaining existing farmyard and stone structures • Retain old dry canal on the site • links with adjoining zoned residential. • links to the village. • Assess whether the stream/ canal overflow through the land can be diverted whether it can be made more of a feature in a masterplan by creating pond/lake or wetland areas . • Ensure houses are not adversely impacted by the development • Examine connectivity between the two areas of land either side of the link road • Examine attenuation can be sensitively redesigned as biodiversity feature within site • Walking routes around and through the site. • Landscaping and planting to Sallins ByPass. • Vehicular entrance from Sallins link road into the site. • Secondary vehicular access from canal. • Pedestrian accesses to the site • Increase links to the site and the canal and river Liffey. • Playing pitches to cater for soccer and GAA. Both natural and artificial turf. • Community building which will cater for community group use and also sporting use. B) The design Process
Stage 01 (Now – Christmas) • Project introduction - KCC Councillors • Consultation with KCC internal departments 17 November 2020 • Consultation with community groups 18 November 2020 (invite submissions) • 18th Dec (close of submission) • Surveys, Ground Investigation, Conservation Architectural Reports, Ecological Report, Arboricultural Assessment of Trees etc • Concept Design (Schematic form) Jan 2021
Stage 02a - Part 8 Application (Jan 2021 – May 2021) • Full set of design drawings, for planning purposes • Supported by various sub consultants and engineering drawings • Presentation for comment before Launch of Part 8 • Public Submissions on process
