HOW TO SETUP GOOGLE ASSISTANT AND CONTROL YOUR DEVICE WITH VOICE COMMANDS Before you begin setting up the SMRTLite Google Assistant Skill, you will need to make sure the below steps have been completed. If any of the below steps are pending, please do them first before continuing with this tutorial. • SMRTLite App is installed on your device. • You have created an account and signed into the SMRTLite App. • You have at least one lighting device setup in the SMRTLite App. • Google Home App is installed on your device. • You are logged into your Google account in the Google Home App. Once all the above steps have been completed, please proceed to the next steps. 1. Open the Google Home App and tap the “Add” button in the middle of the screen. 2. Select “Set up device” from the menu options. 3. Select “Have something already set up?” from the menu options. 4. Tap the magnifying glass icon on the top right of your screen to search for the SMRTLite Skill. 5. Type “SMRT” in the search field and the SMRT Lite skill will appear. Select the skill. 6. You will be asked to enter your SMRTLite App credentials. Enter your phone or email and password, then tap “Link Now”. 7. You will be asked to authorize that Google Home can communicate with the SMRTLite App. Tap “Authorize”. 8. If the link was successful, you will be asked to choose the devices you would like to control with Google Home on iOS devices. Select the devices and tap “Next”. On Android, it will take you back to the Setup screen where you need to tap the back button to return to the “My Home” screen and your devices will appear. 9. iOS Only: Choose the location where you will be controlling the devices. If the location is new, select “Create another home” and follow the steps. Otherwise, select the location and tap “Next”. 10. iOS Only: Select the room the device will be in and tap “Next”. 11. iOS Only: You will be brought back to the “My Home” screen and your devices will be under the room you added them to. You will now be able to control them via Google Assistant. ASSIGNING A ROOM ON ANDROID 1. To assign a room to your devices, select the device from the “My Home” screen and tap the “Add to a room” button at the bottom of your screen. 2. Choose the location where you will be controlling the device. If the location is new, select “Add another home” and follow the steps. Otherwise, select the location and tap “Next”. 3. Tap “Move device” to confirm moving into the location you previously selected. 4. Select the room the device will be in and tap “Next”. 5. You will be taken back to the “My Home” screen and your device(s) should be under the room you selected. NOTE: If you assign multiple devices in the same category to the same room, they will be automatically grouped. To control them individually, you will need to select the group, then tap the link under the group name to be able to manage each device by itself. STILL NEED HELP?
