3 AAI conducts training on handling airport emergencies Airports are vulnerable to potential threats involving chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear agents, due to natural or man-made misadventures. In order to prepare airport emergency handlers for such eventualities, the AAI conducted a basic training programme at the Airport, Raipur from 29th October, 2018 to 2nd November, 2018. In the five-day workshop, Airport Emergency Handlers were provided training on enhancing their preparedness to respond to CBRN emergencies, which involved live demonstrations of detection and decontamination and use of Personal Protective Equipment, besides the know-how to provide medical first aid and initial psycho-social support.
