Williams earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree in Music from California State University East Bay (formerly CSU Hayward) and a Master of Science degree in counseling. She taught music and served as counselor for West Contra Costa Unified School District.

For several years, Williams enjoyed teaching piano and gospel history workshops at Contra Costa College and at Solano College ending in live performances.

In 2001, Williams began teaching piano theory and music appreciation at College of Alameda. She served as the Assistant Director of the Oakland Bay Area Community Chorus with the LONI WILLIAMS late Director William “Bill” Bell.
