Success Story of Odisha Millets Mission Borigumma block - Koraput district This factsheet presents the block-level findings and other information derived from the study "Area, Yield, Production and Value of Produce under the Special Programme for Promotion of Millets in Tribal Areas of Odisha (Odisha Millets Mission), 2017-18, Phase-1" and baseline (2016-17) reports prepared by Professor Srijit Mishra and team at NCDS. Koraput 11.95 Odisha 12.72 Under OMM in 2017-18, yield of millets in Borigumma at 8.56 quintal/hectare is lower than Koraput district's yield of 11.95 0 3 6 9 12 15 quintal/hectare and the state's average yield of 12.72 Quintal/Hectare quintal/hectare. Historically, the ―Imperial Gazetteers‖ were prepared by Colonial administrators for the six Districts of the then Orissa, namely, Angul, Balasore, Cuttack, Koraput, Puri, and Sambalpur. After Independence, the Scheme for compilation of District Gazetteers devolved from the Central Sector to the State Sector in 1957.

Fingerlings of Indian Major Carps (IMC) i.e., Catla catla (Catla), Labeo Technology rohita (Rohu) and Cirrihinus mrigala (Mrigal) with species ratio 1:2:1, and size range 42- demonstration, 85 mm length and 3-7 g weight were stocked in October-November, 2018 in the ponds at a Tribal farmers, lower density of 3,500 nos/ha.
