PEDRO CRISTIANI is a director and screenwriter for film and television. He broke into the industry as author of the hard sci-fi feature MOEBIUS: Winner, Best Screenplay at the Huelva [Spain] and the Miami Film Festival; FIPRESCI Award at the Viennale - Vienna Film Festival.

He collects an intense body of work that ranges from Story Editor, Showrunner and Director for Prime-Time TV, to Advertising Executive Producer and Screenwriter/Consultant for international feature and television studios [filmax, 20th Century Fox,…].

Pedro’s independent short story MAN IN A BAG was distinguished with 5 International Film Awards, and DEUS IRAE - his work-in-progress feature film - took over the Festival arena winning over 20 International Awards, including Best Potential [Fantastic Fest, USA], Best Director [Santiago, Chile], Audience Award [Toronto], Honorary Mention: Best Short Film [Los Angeles], Best Professional Short Film [Godella, Spain], as well as being Official Selection at Sitges, Montreal, San Sebastián, Athens, Sao Pablo, Puchon, HBO’s NYC International Latin Film Festival,…

Lately, Pedro has directed a front internet campaign for L’Oréal Paris | Argentina, and completed POLITICS+ADVERTISING: a documentary that exposes the covert relationship between mass media and political power throughout the Argentine Dictatorship and Democratic Governments. He has recently been appointed as Showrunner for PILGRIMS - a miniseries event that chronicles the aboriginal American myths, and how they have managed to remain alive as present-day urban rituals.

From 2003 to 2008 Pedro was a Professor at Gallatin with his creative Arts Workshop GUERRILLA SCREENWRITING. On 2011 and 2014 he was part of the NYU Visiting Faculty Program, with special screenings of his works and open Q+A sessions with faculty and students that covered from the inception to the global online repercussion of independent film productions. He is also a Film Professor at Universidad de Palermo [Argentina], and Lecturer at NYU-Buenos Aires.

MOEBIUS, FEATURE FILM SCREENWRITER MOEBIUS was screened with an astounding response in the 44 SAN SEBASTIÁN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL. It became part of the Puerto Rico, Huelva and La Havana Film Festival, and was awarded for its cinematography and sound editing. It was also distinguished with the Special Jury Award and the FRIPESCI Award as “a statement that filmmaking is a collective art, based on the imagination and not on a massive budget.”

On 1997 MOEBIUS was an integral part of the Sundance Institute Film Festival, and the Berlin Forum. It was part of the XV Uruguay International Film Festival, where it was given a Special Award in the ‘Fiction Feature Films’ Category. It experienced an overwhelming success in the Mexican Screenings - Guadalajara -, and the Toulouse Film Screenings. On early April 1999, more critical acclaim was received at the New Film Series, organized by the Lincoln Center Film Society, and the MoMA.

MOEBIUS has been invited to participate in over a dozen International Festivals: the Jerusalem Film Festival, Riminicinema, the Sydney Film Festival, the Vancouver International Film Festival, V’iennale, Cologne Conference, Festival Internacional de Cinema [Figueira da Foz], Festival des Films du Monde [Montreal], the London Film Festival, The Other America Film Festival [San Antonio-Texas], Festival de Films du Fribourg. It was awarded with four local Condor Filmmaking Awards: Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Production Design, Best New Actor.
