In 2009, DG Sport launched the first edition of the ‘4 Hours of Spa Classic’. From the very beginning, this event was very welcomed by enthusiastic riders, as well as by spectators, who have both been constantly increasing each year.

In 2012, DG Sport launched its own 2nd classic endurance race, with the ‘200 Miglia di Imola’. This was another great challenge and not less than 43 teams showed up at the starting line.

This is how the next goal was to organize a whole complete endurance championship. In January 2013, DG Sport signed up a 5-year agreement with the FIM Europe and became the official promoter of the competition. This is how the EUROPEAN CLASSIC SERIES were officially born, for the biggest pleasure of all fans across Europe.

The 2013 competition consisted on 3 races. Each one offered a fierce battle, to the great satisfaction of all riders and for the press that was very eager to cover the subject. The goal was fully achieved for DG Sport!

For 2014, the organizers are proud to announce the 2nd season of the ECS, bringing the competition to another higher level. The races will indeed be broadcasted on TV channels! This is a premiere and a new step forward in this success story of classic races.

The concept of the EUROPEAN CLASSIC SERIES was created in order to meet the expectations of the classic endurance die- hards, willing to give a revival to such races on track. This was translated to competitions of minimum 4 hours, with a very diversified entry-list: from amateurs to mythical endurance riders.

The organization ensures the competitive spirit and the fair play of the races, by avoiding any association between several experienced riders.

The EUROPEAN CLASSIC SERIES are the ultimate classic endurance races, specially designed for top-class gentlemen riders and their outstanding motorbikes. Concept

Each competition consists on a 2-day racing format:

> Maximum 3 riders per team > Friday: free practice session of 30’ > Friday: 2 qualifying sessions of 20’ each > Friday: 1 night practice of 45’ > Saturday: warm-up session of 30’ > Saturday: 4 hours race with “Le Mans” style start and finish > at night (except in Imola) A calendar ready to meet the highest expectations ECS In 2014, the EUROPEAN CLASSIC SERIES will visit 2 new legendary tracks: Le Castellet in the South of , and the famous Nürburgring GP circuit in Germany.

The calendar of the ECS will consist on 5 rounds. This nice evolution is a guarantee for the global progression of the championship. It will help to welcome more international riders, more professional teams, and it is a biggest appeal to broadcast the championship on TV at a European level. A bigger organization will also attract more fans and sponsors. As a matter of fact, 2014 is likely to be ECS’s best year ever!

The championship is designed in order to give spectators the opportunity to be very close to the pilots. They have the feeling of being involved in the race. Each of the 5 rounds will have its special animations, exhibitions, shows and other privileged moments for fans.
